Please vote the version you tend to believe more. I'm curious:

1- He is dead. So all the charges against him are dropped and his family can get away with the ENRON money he stole.

2- His death was staged so he could avoid jail and enjoy the fortune he stole under a different ID.

I was under the impression that they liquidated most of his assets, but I could be incorrect there. I'm going with 1, but sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if the sonofabitch was fucking mules on a ranch in Crawford, Texas.

I have little to no doubt the man is dead, but the system failed - I remember his wife in an interview right after this thing broke, talking about how hard times were for them, financially.

She's a fuggin cow and his entire family should pay for what he did. I mean pay money - the money of the people their father robbed and that they currently live on, back to the folks who were ruined by his lies and deceit.

That reversal is not even funny, it is despicable.

Gosh. They even had to sell their winter home in Aspen, according to our local newspaper.

I would sure think that his estate would still owe back the money he stole. Is that somehow not the case?

At the time I heard this, when the sotry broke and they were all doing interviews on Dateline, etc - this was not the case (losing everything), she even mentioned a number that they had to live on, it was still way the hell up there. Furthermore, I am not so naive to believe that they don't have shit hidden all over the place, and so do their children. Rich crooks like that, know how to cheat and hide - obviously.

As far as I know, they were barganing so his estate wopuldn't have to be sold from the family, and they would still be very prosperous.
