Yeah, I'm trying to find a 'why' here and I just don't think I can. The D really wasn't the shitshow the scoreboard indicates (safeties were shit again though - gotta get Lucas out ther more). The offense did all it could with Donald playing like he was.

I mean ****, it was just a loss to a really good team in their barn. It happens. I'd like to see some breakdowns to see if there were more guys getting abused on D than I saw but apart from Sorensen just looking too damn slow and tentative, I didn't think anyone else was obviously awful. We had a shitload of man coverage and when Goff had 3+ seconds to throw, he hit 'em. That's gonna happen with a good QB throwing to a good pair of WRs working in man. We had to pick a poison and by the end our rushers were gassed and we had nothing left to give. A play needed to be made that wasn't and that's that.

It's football - it happens. I don't see a 'blame' here.

Rams got 21 off Mahomes turnovers, while the Chiefs got 14 off Goff turnovers.

If we were to take away those points off of turnovers, the final score would have been 37-33, Chiefs.

Still giving up too many points though.

But I still feel like they were playing too much zone in the first quarter.

Sorry man but if your boy lock does this you probably blame him and Odom. You cant turn the ball over 5 times you just cant. This is on all levels of football. It's on Mahomes just like the Patriots game.

It's not 'on Mahomes' when the guy is responsible for 500 yards of offense and 6 scores.

He was part of it, sure. But he was also a huge part of us staying in it.

Mahomes isnt beyond criticism either - but you can't just hand waive the massive amount of good he did here.

There is no denying the good that he did but again on any level what are the odds a team turns it over 5+ times and wins. It's just not realistic.

Tonight reminded me of the Texas/USC Rose Bowl game when Vince Young went off. Just a hell of a game. High score, big ****ing deal. Made the game crazy good.

Not saying all of it was on Mahomes. It was a team loss.

I didn't necessary agree with Tyreek's decision to field that punt in the 5.

I didn't necessary agree with Andy's play calling late in the 4th quarter.

I didn't necessary agree with the Chiefs playing soft zone in the beginning of the game.

Like I said, there's a lot of blame to go around.

But you just can't turn it over 5 times and expect to win the game.

And with the lead and under 3 minutes left, if our veteran CB brings in a makeable pick, its 3 turnovers. Yes, I understand that 'if' doesnt mean shit but that's my point here - it took a missed opportunity to force us into that situation. If Scandrick brings that in, Mahomes' day goes down as legend.

They have a goddamn linebacker house a carom, we have a CB gak a ball in both hands. It's football.

Scandrick is a Broderick and Nelson is a #3 at best. Do we beat New England or Pittsburgh with multiple turnovers on a cold Janauary day in Kansas City if we give it up multiple times? I dont think so. I dont think Mahomes is infallible as the board suggests. Either he cleans it up or these guys learn to make some plays or were going to be disappointed come January which BTW I fully expect. Theres a reason why we all were hoping to trade for Peterson and miss me with the stupid PFF bullshit.

5 times? No, probably not.

But this team can turn it over 3 times and win. Easily.

And if they turn it over 5 times but Mahomes puts 50 on the board, we still win. Nobody else has Aaron Donald. Hes just such a bad matchup for this squad and its patchwork interior line.

Again - the are a lot of reasons for this loss and most of them are actually fairly understandable.

It's been said by several here. If you gathered a bunch of coaches together in a room and said "okay, I'm going to list off several things that happened that lost us a game. When you hear what you think the number one culprit was, please exit the room. Let's start with our QB turned it over 5 times" the room would be empty before you got to item two. No exceptions. It's okay. He'll grow from it. Of course Scandrick is a shit show, but we knew that already.
