Negative publicity is a good thing.
My fear is that the negative publicity of fan insensitivity (I'm not saying it was... just saying that's how it's being publicized) is going to make the fans look unreasonable, instead of making the GM look ridiculous. I hope it doesn't distract from the national story, which is that Cassel is garbage and Pioli is garbage, and we shouldn't feel sorry for either of those guys. |

I am worried that the national media will somehow make Cassel look like a martyr to a completely unreasonable fan base.
I thought a bad performance today would open this front office up to a world of scrutiny. I think this was a very convenient distraction for Pioli. |

Because our GM is so egotistical that he's not going to listen unless the national media presses him on it. I think he believes he's above Mellinger, Whitlock, and Babb. I don't think he cares what those guys say. When you start getting ESPN, NFL Network, etc... calling you out, shit suddenly starts getting real. Pioli found a convenient distraction that makes the fans look unreasonable, instead of making the front office look incompetent. Like I said, I thought a really bad performance by Cassel would have forced the national media to really start pushing a QB controversy in KC. Now, it almost feels like the media feels guilty talking badly about Cassel after this display. |
