Reid is notorious for finding picking and developing QBs. Im pretty sure he stated that he likes to take one in every draft. I guess that didnt apply to this group of chaff.

Alex Smith was the one he used a draft pick on this year.

though, I think it's easy to look back and compare to how things have played out to this point.
I think most people are angry that the Chiefs haven't even tried to grab a QB to develop.

at least, that's the way I feel about it.

We did. We got Tyler Bray. If we had spent a 5th on him a lot of people would have been happy. Alas.

And the irony is, that for as much as people on here are crushing the chiefs for not drafting a qb, he very well could end up being the VERY BEST QB FROM THIS CLASS. He has the talent. He has to put the work in, but the talent, is there, and the support that he is going to need to get there is here. That being two qbs who understand the qb position in Daniel, and Smith, the gurus in Chilly, Andy, and Pederson. I would take Bray in that situation over any other qb that was drafted.....Hes in the best predicament.

Well yeah. That doesn't mean that they were wrong to not reach for Geno or Sanchex back in'09.

So we are still arguing about a 2nd round QB. Figures
Seriously though who gives a shit. The guy is toast. Aaron brooks tops.
probably closer to Jim Drunkunmiler with the shit they will put.him through in NY. Im pretty sure the 250,000 posts we wasted on him before the draft were plenty

Sanchez=Tebow at least Tebow didn't and wouldn't have buttfumbled. #5 overall pick getting replaced by...... wait for it..........that is right Geno Smith. OUCH bet that leaves a mark on mark.
Got to hand it to those USC QBs they really are something.
I think both of these QBs are a perfect example of how essential a good, solid, O-Line is. Both of these QBs were magnified and made to look better than they were thanks to a good O-Line. Good thing we took a "safe pick" and not a QB that may or may not be successful.

Arrogance can't be coached, and is generally a Diva. ie Ryan Leaf, Chad Johnson

All in all there's a lot of crap out there. I'm not saying I'm happy with the Chiefs by any means. But I think it's easy to cherry pick the spots like Flacco, Rodgers, Freeman and Brees, and forget about all the ones we dodged like butt-fumble, Jafatass, Young, Quinn, Jason Campbell, Clausen, etc. or all the years there just wasn't crap to pick from (like many are predicting for this year).

Different players could have succeeded or failed in different situations.
For instance:

If Aaron Rodgers got drafted by a shit organization like the Raiders or Dolphins instead of getting to sit and learn Brett Favre, it's impossible to know how that situation would've ended up. Rodgers could've been stuck in a bad situation with shitty surrounding talent, and busted bigtime.

If Mark Sanchez was drafted by the Chiefs where there is less media pressure, less expectations, etc... he could've possibly been a much better QB.
We will never know.

The point of all of this is: Other teams TRY the latest working model, and that is drafting and developing your franchise QB. The Chiefs continue to trade for other teams QB's that they are willing to part with. That said, I won't be a hypocrite and say that it will NEVER work, because like I mentioned above... different situations can call for different outcomes. However; the chiefs are going against the trends and it's not even close to working... when are they going to finally do what championship teams do?
