Yes, it was part of the graduation requirements from High School back in the dark ages (1977).

I graduated HS/AA degree in 2003. I first studied the US Constitution in middle school, the most extensively in a 7th grade Law Studies course.

I think it first came up in grade school as part of studying the Revolution in history class. The ending of the Revolution begat the Constitution and we covered the Bill of Rights as part of the aftereffect. This was mid 70's I think.
Studied it again or at least parts of it in middle school as part of Civil war history. They used it to demonstrate the legal lead up to the war, e.g., 10th Ammendment, and the legal fall out afterwards, e.g., 14th Amendment. Studied it twice in High school. US Goverment was a semester requirement for graduation so we covered the Bill of Rights, the 14th, the 22nd and a few other amendments. Another was when I took an honors Current Events course. We had to tie various events to their source and detail cause/effect. One thing in particular that came up was the Civil Rights act and how it tied to the 14th and 4th. I became quite unpopular when I took the position that most everything government did was a violation of the 10th and was therefore illegal. I graduated from Lafayette High in St. Joe Mo. Class of '83.

It amazes me that you guys can remember this much. I can't remember anything from grade or high school, and not much from college.

It depends on the subject Keg. History is a passion of mine. I remember lots of things from my history and science classes. Now if you ask me how to diagram a sentence or the significance of various literary pentameters forget it!

We studied it, but it has been so long ago I can not remember. It was a fairly new document then.

Yup this is more like what I would have thought, however some other people were saying they thought that people should be given incentives to study the Constitution and how our government is set up. I remember studying the Constitution in 7th grade (67) and studying the way our government is set up in 6th grade.
