Twitter & Facebook integration for Chiefsplanet?

I think with the power and reach of these social media outlets... that this type of function would be beneficial.

It would help new members find the site... and publish information to those who view other channels.

For instance... I like what this thread has to say about the APIs that are available.

You can have http://twitter.com/chiefsplanet which doesnt currently exist... and have the api send out a tweet... every time a new thread on the lounge gets says 25-50 posts... followers would be alerted with a tweet and they would come back to this site and read the thread...

We could also login to the site via our Facebook account and share interesting tidbits.

Does anyone else see value in this?

yeah, most of the current members wouldn't use it... but Chiefsplanet is a 9 year old brand... and it makes sense to integrate with those other technologies... especially twitter... or a Facebook fan page.

At least register the username... so some spammer / other teams fan doesn't.

you must protect your brand, regardless.

I think the ability to share a post on facebook or twitter through integration with the platforms would be pretty cool. I find a lot of stuff here on the Planet that I end up sharing into my FB or twitter stream.

It would make it easier for LJ to insult more people with one post.

facebook is real life. I don't know why you would want to invite everyone on some message board into your real life.

I agree on the "real life" issue, but sharing a link to CP with your facebook or twitter community doesn't in mean you are sharing your real life with CP people.
