What about the time in California in which a woman jogger was killed by a mountain lion and the public raised more money to help with the care of the lion cubs than they did for the care of the kids.
That is really screwed up.....

my solution to that would have been some mountain lion skin mittens for her kids :)
I just don't understand that the same people who sit still while missing and killed children are reported give more money to find a guy that chased a friggin anke biter into traffic. |

Easy, the value of a human life has been decreased to point that a lot of people think an animal's life is worth more.
I am sure you can agree, I have met some animals that I would take in a heartbeat over some humans.;)

while I'm at it...this is out of hand too.
the same girls/boys that coax each other into "spin the bottle" and truth or dare are sqealing about teasing? rumors?...
when are we going to let kids be kids....boys/girls are awkard in elementary/jr high....who doesn't remember the "if she kicks/hits you, it really means she likes you" speech.....it takes practice to learn how to interact..... ~had my pants dropped a couple times in JR High by girls....wondering if I should get Johnny Cochran to releive my suffering? |

Okay ... I'm an animal lover (no, not in that way you sick pervs) and would never do anything to hurt an animal. I don't even hit my own animals.
But this is just fucking ludicrous. How did the dog get out of the car? Why didn't the owner have it secured? How is it this guys fault? I understand laws agains animal cruelty ... there are some sick fucks out there. But in this case it has gone entirely too far. MM ~~Tired of people blaming others for their problems.

It is a shame that he would get more jail time for doing that to a dog than he would if he would have hit a child or another adult.
Twisted priorites.

Sorry, but I say fry the guy. My @ss he "dropped" the dog and it happened to get hit, much to his surprise. He threw the d@mn thing into traffic. And judging by that article, it looks like there's plenty of other reasons to keep the guy behind bars too. You know, he's a crook after all...
We had another thread on this the other day, and I'm serious when I say my dogs are part of my family. If that guy had done that to one of my girls (not really possible, they're big dogs...) I'd have thrown his sorry @ss into traffic after her. That's just the way it is. You don't mess with my family, which includes my fiance and my dogs. I'm not a PETA freak. I don't chain myself to trees to protect owls. I don't watch Oprah either. But there is a serious relationship between a person and his/her dog that you can't discount. And those people who sent $120K did it on their own accord. It's their money and they can do what they want with it. I wouldn't give her a cent (and you see how much I love dogs...) but, hey, if they thought she was a worthy "charity" who are we to criticize? It's not like it was government funds from taxes or something... |
Citizens and well-wishers collected $120,000 in reward funds for information leading to an arrest of Leo's killer.
Is the remains of the funds that were collected, tax-free? ;)

I'm once again reminded of South Park
...the anal probe episode where the "visitors" were slaughtering cows....
"this is a people train, not a cow train...this train is only for people...no cows...you have to take a cow train, not a people train." Ok Kyle, Dogs jumping around in a car are more destracting than cell phones and cause accidents...note that the woman rearended him not once, but twice. DOGS AREN'T PEOPLE. Witnesses' testified that he tossed the dog 5'....not 2 human steps....Last time I was bitten by a cat, I'm guessing it was stopped at 30' by the wall on the other side of the room.....I seriously doubt if the dude pile drived the poor innocent puppy into the grill of an oncoming car....witnesses said the dog RAN INTO Traffic.... I'm not necessarily saying this guy is right....but to say he should fry or go to the "overcrowded prisons" that you don't think druggies should go to is rediculous. ~its just a friggin dog.....save some needy children....and if a dog bites me..it will soon find out if "all dogs go to heaven" |

I am going to go against the grain on this one. I don't believe this guy for 2 seconds. I am in the bay area and this has been big news forever so will fill in some of the blanks.
1. First of all there were witnesses that he threw the dog into traffic. 2. He left the scene abruptly. 3. The media did a ridiculouse job of over covering this story. It was the top story for like two or three weeks. Everyone in the bay area was looking for this guy. If that was you and you had been bitten wouldn't you make sure you covered your arse. 4. This guy has a huge rap sheet for losing it. 5. If he did that to BIG DADDY'S dog he wouldn't have to worry about the 3 years. BIG DADDY Does agree that there are way too many animal rights wackos though. The spotted owl ended up crushing the economy of Southern Oregon where BIG DADDY's Ps are.
