We're gone through about 260 houses, and I suspect that I looked at 1,000+ to make the initial lists.

We're now down to the final three. Which of these houses is the most desirable home under $1 million in the U.S.?

I will say for $1M though, it does look like in one picture there's a house sitting down the hill of that backyard view, not to mention the side neighbors.

That's not a deal breaker for me though because I'm poor.

Sure looks like a house down there. Didn't see that the first time around. Deal breaker?

I noticed that. I figure that's why the back edge of the property is built up and those big rocks are there, to hide the houses on that row.

Had to go with Idaho. Interestingly enough, with Utah in the finals as well, I've read that Idaho has the second largest concentration of Mormons outside of Utah.

That they do. It's white America up there.

Along with the Aryan Nation who ties itself to the Church of Jesus Christ-Christian, you have a whole pick of religious extremes!!!

In Utah, though, I bet the neighbors are less likely to be nosy if you have a second wife.

Yep. It looks like there's another house to the left of it. You can just barely see the roof and plumbing vent stacks. Still not a deal breaker for me.

I was thinking that would be an awesome man cave type of building.

Great, now I have to buy TWO houses. This sucks.

If you look at the "Bird's Eye" view it shows the layout for the entire housing addition. There are several houses there.

I don't think I'm uppity, I just don't like people all up in my business. Having a house with a wall of windows would be awesome if it is somewhat isolated. With the neighbors that close, it would be like living in a fishbowl.

Yep - there's a BYU-Idaho campus. I'll be visiting there in a few weeks.

I went New Mexico.

The climate is ideal for me. I'd have an indoor swimming pool, a billiards room, and a film room. Sure, I'd have to drive for restaurants, but it's a little college town without much traffic to slow me down.

None of these would have been in my top 5.

Idaho by default
