(Those are the actual regular season numbers) Of course he's going to have more yards per target when a higher proportion of his targets are deep balls because he's not on the field as often as Brown.

I don't like Brown, but I dislike intellectual dishonesty more.

Brown targets past 9 yards:
2023: 50%
2022:47.5%
2021: 38.9%

MVS targets past 9 yards:
2023: 70%
2022: 60.5%
2021: 59.2%
The entire case for Hollywood Brown has been full of intellectual dishonesty.

People sucking his dick over a single 1000 yard season when it took 150 targets to get it. And barely get it at that.

Hell, if I had the time to look I'd bet that Mooney's numbers are actually better, putting up similar numbers on WAY fewer targets.

Well, it will entirely depend on what type of production he has. If he can average 600 yards, it will be worth it. Which is about what MVS averaged until this season.

But MVS is 29 whereas Hollywood Brown is only 25. One would think with Andy Reid and Mahomes, Brown can have 3 really good seasons and put up 600+.

The guy has tweeted ~400 times this week. Most of it hasn't happened, though I don't care anywhere near enough to go through and audit what's said in advance of actual beat writers, what was wrong, and what just hasn't happened yet.

Why do you think Matt Lane of KCSN is RTing him?

It's because he's been accurate. You can say you still don't trust it, but you're just denying reality at this point.
KCSN doesn't have beat writers - they know as little as you and I. They've been EXCITED about Hollywood for a while, but that doesn't mean that they know anything.

I'm not saying it can't happen. I'm just saying that people who create Twitter accounts to brag about how much insider info they have usually...don't.

Based on 2023 alone, it's a skill set like Brown's that we missed the most. Is there even any arguing that? Seemed fairly obvious that the lack of a deep threat killed us all year long until Rice became really good and MVS didn't completely suck during playoff games.
I'm personally not huge on Brown, but I very much agree with this thought process. There's more than just the ESPN stat sheet surface.

I think we might want to see if this happens...and if it does... what the contract is.

In the macro... he'd be the best fit of the remaining FA receivers, though.

15 mil a year for 600 yards sounds completely insane to me, I could be out of touch.

My main excitement if this is real would be that it frees the Chiefs to do whatever they want in the draft. Keep reloading with BPA.

I would prefer a WR like Ridley, a lot of us do.

BUT Ridley is older, will likely cost more and it seems he would prefer to stay in Jacksonville. Which means hes not really available unless we offered WAY to much to pry him away. We CANT do that.

Brown on the other hand fits the exact kind of WR Andy prefers. He is a Veteran, which we all agree that we need.

He has had to play with QBs that arent very good or just dont throw much. He realized early that Baltimore was a bad spot for a WR that wanted to be great.

So he has skills, he is young, he is fast, he can track the deep ball well and he can CATCH!

IF he ends up signing with us, thats a HUGE win for the Chiefs!!

It also allows us to target a different type of WR in the draft. The kind of guy we all want to see, a BIG guy that can go up and snatch the ball against anyone!

But if we were adding a veteran WR just to 'add a WR', I'd rather see someone on a one year low money deal with incentives. And then target our 'ideal' fit in the draft in the first couple of rounds.

Trust in Veach, though.
He isn’t signed yet and we have no idea on terms and maybe he is ‘ideal’ fit , premature freaking out maybe a little but with the way the market is there is a chance no one will like the deal but people have complained about the WR room all year and it’s not like there are a bunch of Jerry Rice in FA wanting to play for free.

Yeah but they were Lamar targets. I also believe that targets are an earned stat. MVS would never in a million years earn that many.

WRs like Brown depend on QB play more than others.

YAC and passes in the 1-10 yard range aren't his game, we know the deal.

I'm not holding his feet to the fire because he didn't light it up with Arizona.

Who cares how many times he has tweeted? Not every tweet is him calling his shot on something. You understand that, right? I know you say you do, but bringing up the amount of times he's tweeted without providing a single example says otherwise.

People on Twitter are on top of all that shit. If he were constantly throwing shit at the wall, they'd have screenshots and call him out on it.

He gained this reputation quickly, becuase so far, he hasn't missed.

Again, that doesn't mean he's right this time. I acknowledge that, but you're being a bundle of sticks per usual pretending that you know anything. You're literally just assuming he's gotten shit wrong because that's what you want to beleive.

I never said anything about KCSN guys being beat writers. The point is that Matt Lane has been following this guy as well, and he knows he's batting 1.000 so far.

So what is the option we should go with? Because you can't just throw anybody out there and expect 600 yards. We tried that shit last year.
