Yes, sponsorship mentions are a completely new thing in NASCAR. Haven't been around for 40 years or anything.

Sponsorship mentioning began right around the same time that Nascar kept tweaking the cars to make racing more competitive and "cheaper for the teams" . The teams have to spend more so they need more sponsor dollars. And the quality of racing continues to deteriorate. So basically Nascar is a smaller model of our government.

that's why Danica Patrick is such a natural fit ... she's a freaking advertising whore. I don't know that there is anything she wouldn't do to make a buck.

dam straight ... that punk lost his racing heart years ago. He's just around for the money.
i starting watching Nascar because of his dad ... then switched to Jr. when Dale died. Jr. lasted about a year and half before he sold out and then he went over to race with the rainbow gheymo i'm done with his punk ass.

The days where Richard Petty could lap the entire field is long gone. If that happened now there would be no fans.
I will agree that the cars are closer together but there is certainly a select few that are good and then there's a bunch that aren't. It all boils down to money and who has and spends the most. It's no different than any other sport except Nascar publicly stresses it is trying to save the teams money when everything they do costs more money. |
