College Students

So, classes started today here at nwosu. What kind of classes are the college students on here enrolled in? How many hours you taking? How long are you on campus for them?

I'm enrolled in 16 going M,W,F 8-12 with a 3 hr night class and a 2 hour thursday lab.

I have General Biology and lab, Middle Ages, American Colonial Period, Police Trafficing and Enforcement, and a 3 hour general humanities class.

Don't know anything about humanities, is it a type of art history class? The book for it is 180 bucks. Everything else was a lot cheaper. My sister spent well over 700 on her books.

Buckets are only an historical note that I bring up toward the end of the semester when I describe the etymology of the term "fire plug". It's one of the highlights of the whole course.

And picking a major is tricky. What is hot right now may be crap when you finally get your degree. In the'60's everybody wanted to be an aerospace engineer because of the govt space programs. When they ended, there was no more work. I think Rainman got caught up in this. So you need a crystal ball to know what will be hot when you are 50. You need to know this when you are 20. Some professions last forever like doctors, lawyers and veterenarians. So be aware of that.

I'm at Christian Brothers University in Memphis. I'm taking 15 hours. 9 to 1 Monday, wed, fri. 9 to 1045 on tues, thurs. Only class then is Psychology. On Mon,wed,and Fri I have English Comp, Math, Christian Ethics and I need to add a class.

I got caught up in the aftermath of the Cold War, but yeah, I came out in a big Reagan-era boom and then the boom turned into a bust when the Russkies let me down.

When I went into college, the field of petroleum engineering was red hot, with starting salaries that were enormous. I knew some people who went into that field, presumably just for the salary, and four years later, when they graduated, that field was busted and none of them could even find jobs. Hopefully they liked their decision even without the money.

No idea what classes they are specifically. They're all Public Administration courses.

Lucky for me, I'm always looking to see what classes might have opened up.

Or in this case, cancelled. My 8:00am is going to be cancelled, and my 9:00 changed professors to this real asshat.

Luckily, I found this out today, and not on Monday - I was able to move some things around, and get into the Business Administation and International Relations classes that I wanted.

Time to celebrate.

The first day of classes is Monday, August 25 for us. I'm enrolled in 14 hours, MTWThrF classes. The only class worthy of noting is my Theories of Mass Communications class because it has a 30% pass rate, basically meaning most of the people in the class are taking it for the second time sadly. I'm going to eat, sleep and bathe with that class, and remember proudly that D's get degrees, at least with this class in mind.

My spring semester will be cake with me only needing seven legit hours, the rest will be filled with one hour recreation courses such as volleyball, tennis, racquetball and insert any other pud class.

This year won't be that easy but I intend on having much more fun than I usually do, since it is my LAST year of college. I started the school year off right last night by fooling around with and getting a bj from this chick I barely know. Nothing new for me as I am a whore, but my mind is now refreshed and ready for a full year of fun whilst meeting and studying new student bodies of the female variety, mixed with furthering my knowledge of my soon-to-be profession. It's all about multi-tasking.

I want all the underclassmen to know one thing: The only B's worth getting are BJs. Good luck this year with your studies and extra curricular activities and may you excel at everything you do.

Well I move in tomorrow and I'm excited. My last year, yay! It is Freshman Advantage week, they moved in today. Freshman Advantage week is when the freshman get accommodated with the staff and the facilities around them, as well as their fellow freshman peers.

For me, and others, Freshman Advantage week means something entirely different, and is celebrated every week.

This should be a fun senior year.

BS. AE's are still needed and have jobs - commercial, military, business and personal aviation are still thriving/booming. Plus with most education programs Aerospace Engineering is essentially a specialized form of Mechanical Engineering and most AE's can do the job of ME's. Kind of a similar relationship between a EE and Computer Engineer.
