I'm still drinking the kool-aid, but....

...this sure seems pretty reminenscent of a CP draft.

Trade a pick for another team's QB: Check

Select a couple of DL at the top of the draft: Check

Draft a DB: Check

Draft OL: Check

Draft TE: Check

Draft RB: Check

Draft a speedy, but unknown WR: Check

I just hope that Haley/Pioli are better judges of talent than CP or we are headed for more of the same old-same old....

That would leave us with a bad case of Haolitosis.....

Until the late rounds, it was pretty different in that it involved productive players from major football schools. That wasn't generally CP's m.o.

Once you get into the 6th and 7th, you're in project/special teamer territory, so it doesn't matter much to me where a guy's from.

So what positions did we need to draft for it to be a very unCP draft?

LB, K, P, FB? Sounds great.

K = Medlock
P = Colquitt
FB = Only one I can't think of (Wilson?). WHY DIDN'T WE DRAFT A FB!

I think Pioli and Co. have a better idea of the system they want in place and the type of player fits into that system. CP and regime was just one uncoordinated mess after another.

Yeah, we still have Kucharik as well as Chuck Cook and all the scouts here, so it's still the same guys doing the scouting and eval, just different guys at the top dictating the type of players and positions we need. Don't be surprised to see Pioli bring in some of his own people sometime in the next few months...

I was thinking the same thing, except for the halitosis (sp?) part.

The phrase "eerily reminiscent" comes to mind.

But screw it.....the bar's still open, give me another beer and another shot of that Kool-Aid stuff! Damn, that shit is good!
