Oh, if you and the other guys who don't like Alex Smith, aka the other 49er fans who create stupid names like Alice Smith, Alex Smiff, would leave, then threads like this would die. I don't personally care as much when Clay rips him.

But when you guys do, and especially you, today starting a thread that had zero to do with the Chiefs and was basically rapped around you being pissed at how the QBR didn't have Kap as the pimp of the world, after all your preaching about not bringing 49er shit to this board, I realized it.

Guys like Mac, Jake, myself, Doug, viper, just want to talk football, and just happen to really like Alex Smith, and want to talk about the present and future and not the past.

So sure. A thread like this will never die, because guys like you wont leave.

Pffff. You are full of shit.

I have repeatedly admitted when Alex has struggled. No one on THIS FORUM killed him worst than I did after the 49ers chiefs preseason game.

He didn't play well against the giants. Then again. No body on the 49ers did. Did they? They ran frank gore 8 times, all GAME, all in the first half. The defense got pissed on all over all day. The giants opened the second half with a huge kick return. Alex isn't a guy that can bring a team back very often. he played like crap. sure the finger was an issue, but if he was good enough to play, he was good enough to overcome it.

He played like crap in that game, he played like crap in the Minnesota game.

he was pretty crappy against the ravens on thanksgiving. Even though, some of that wasn't his fault. No adam Snyder, no bruce miller hurt, short week, but whatever. he didn't play well.

Didn't play well when the 49ers lost to Arizona.

Hell, HE PLAYED LIKE SHIT IN THE NYJ game where the 49ers won 34-0.

Please. I have no problem admitting when Alex plays badly.

Here is the rub though. alex smith haters, will never admit when he plays well.

Like in the Bills game, like in the Arizona game, or like in the Saints playoff game.

Guys were wide open in the Bills game, in the Arizona game it was all short passes against a crappy secondary, and in the saints game, it was alex smiths fault that the 49ers hadn't buried them after getting 5 turnovers.

Its always something to cry about. Both ways.

But I don't believe in excuses. I believe in Reasons, and Results.

Gabbert has shown himself to be not good either way. The finger issue is a possible reason he wasn't even up to his usual bad play.
Gabbert has horrible talent around him and needs about 10 years to prove his worth I would say.

If the finger was such a problem, he should have sat out.

Coincidentally, the concussion would have been another excuse for 4-5 games from your ball licker type if not for NFL rules.

If this thread reaches it's potential with over 9,000 post the mods may decide to kill it to save the server.

This thread is going get bump each week if Alex Smith has a bad game or good game or even meh game. I think he is going have more meh games than either good or bad.

Finger appeared to be a moderate problem. As has been stated it was a bad game with the choices of throws either way.

It was also a bad game in other areas. The team failed and got out played and out coached.

Why pretend that that game or the Vikings game were W's in the bag till Smith screwed us over?

Even with the best for about 20 years how often did the 49ers get to or win the SuperBowl?
It's hard to do.
And it's harder when your QB is good not great.

What's the surprise? Did you only recently discover we didn't have a HOF QB or WR ?

We couldn't take some pride in team that was in the playoffs and borderline contenders because goofballs like you would rather preach hate and ignorance.

And you pop up and do this act here? On a team forum who haven't won a playoff game in 20 years?
Do you have any clue how ridiculous you look?

He has horrible talent around him because their number 7 overall pick cant stop being a dumbass. Marcedes Lewis is a very good tight end, MJD is a stud running back, they have a good oline,, they have two other very capable receivers in Cecil Short, and Ace Sanders. The lack of talent, isn't really the issue as much as it is that he sucks.

It is not an excuse. Bruce Miller was vital in protecting Alex Smith. Moran Norris was HORRIBLE. Between him being out, and Adam Snyder leaving Chilo Rachal, the Ravens ran ROUGH SHOD over the 49ers.

Don't forget. Not excuses. Reasons. That was the Thanksgiving night game.

Cross country from SF to Baltimore. Not only that, but Alex Smith had a td pass taken away because of a bullshit chop block call on Frank Gore when Alex Smith had hit Ted Ginn for a very long td.
