Would you all believe I was carded today?
For buying winshield cleaner and fuel intake system cleaner? I kid you not. One of those two items prompted the Wal-Mart cashier to ask me if I was 18 and an ID to verify it, after all I could easily pass for 17 as she told me.

I kept looking back to see if a customer behind me had put some alcohol down that she thought was mine. I couldn't believe she actually insisted on seeing my ID for these two items. But we are talking about a Wal-Mart employee......

I've heard a few stories similar to this now. Apparently some stores are asking for ID on items with alcohol constituents. Chances are those items have methanol, isopropyl alcohol, or t-butyl alcohol in them. They're trying to keep idiot kids from buying them thinking they're booze and poisoning themselves.

Some drugs stores are putting common cold and allergy meds behind locked displays to keep addicts from using them to make meth. No kidding.

I guess if you're over age and an idiot, you could still poison yourself though.
