Seems like this deserves its own thread. The news will start coming fast over the next week or two, IMO. Recruiting is a 365-day event and we can't afford to be rudderless for long.

"WEST LAFAYETTE—

The St. Louis Post Dispatch is reporting Purdue head coach Matt Painter has accepted the men’s basketball coaching position at Missouri. But, not so fast, a source close to Fox 59 says no official decision has been made.

The Purdue athletic department confirms that the university hasn’t heard from Painter’s camp. There are rumblings of a team meeting scheduled for this evening, but Athletic Director Morgan Burke is unaware of any possible meeting between Painter and the Boilermakers.

The Purdue head coach has become a strong candidate to fill the vacancy at Missouri, which was opened when Mike Anderson left to be the head man at Arkansas.

Painter met with officials from Missouri on Tuesday in Florida where the coach was vacationing. Following the interview, Fox 59 was told Painter returned to West Lafayette."
