Would you rather.

The NFL has given you, the GM of the Chiefs, two options for the future of the NFL Draft.

Going forward, you can either start out with one pick in all seven rounds (as they do now), or you can start off with two picks in the first round with no picks for the rest of the draft.

All other rules in the NFL apply: the other teams have seven picks as they do now, salary cap, UDFAs, roster limits, practice squads, and of course, if you can, you can always try to trade down.

Which do you do?

Edit: You get both of your first rounders back to back.

Eric Berry
Dontari Poe
Eric Fisher (still in wait and see mode with him IMO)
Dee Ford (wait and see mode)

Id say the great majority of this teams talent was acquired in the first round and Id LOVE to have had 2 swings in each of those first rounds.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Give me quantity over quality when I'm picking lottery tickets.
First round picks are like lottery tickets that win 1/2-1/3 of the time.

Every round after that is lucky to win on 1/6 of the time and even then, its EXTREMELY rare for those players to outperform the guys chosen in the first round.

Now, go ahead and drop some names like Richard Sherman to try to make your point.

Gotta go, have fun.

Yeah so I guess the position in the first round would make a big difference.

How about you go do some research and find out what I mean.

Go look at all the players chosen in the first round over the last decade and tell me the percentage those guys panned out to be solid starters to star players....then do the same with every player drafted after the first round during that same 10 year period.

Players in the first round pan out FAR MORE than other rounds.

You're the one that made the claim.

How about you do the research.

I've never understood why a team uses all 7 picks on scrubs. Bottle those picks up and trade up to get a couple studs that will be on the team in 5 years.

If you choose the 7, you still get 1 first round pick. So it comes down to would you rather have 1 extra first round pick or 6 picks in rounds 2-7.
