Berry is a baller, sure, but if we are going to spend 10+ mil on a safety, I really want someone who is going to not only stop big plays downfield, but also get turnovers. It's not that Byrd is that much better of a player, but I think his role is more valuable. |

Berry is a playmaker, though. He's been getting INTs, forcing fumbles and pressuring QBs all season long. If we had even average FS play we'd be able to see it more often. With the $20 million or however much of a cap hit we're taking between both Berry and Flowers combined, there's just no money for another big secondary signing. We're going to have to make due with someone that's not too expensive. There are hungry guys out there that can do the job; we just have to find him. |

I disagree with that. Teams game plan for Berry. He and Poe are the biggest threats on our defense in my opinion. They are what make it go. His versatility is rare. FS might have been more important in the Jets scheme but our scheme isn't the same as the Jets by any means. It's based off the Jets but it ain't the Jets.
