If there was a possibility of anyone else we would be hearing something from Kiper or Shefter by now. This isn't Nick "Assclown" Athan reporting he is going number 1. |

And everyone was shocked. Because of the lockout issues, teams can't negotiate with players, which means if Carolina was thinking of going a different direction, it's likely no one would know about it. Agents leak stuff like this, not teams. Not saying it's going to happen, but just because Scheffter hasn't reported it, doesn't mean it's not possible. |

Despite the lockout, I'm not sold there isn't some behind the scenes communications between teams and these agents/players being drafted and I'm sure these guys have sources within the teams as well. There just isn't any smoke right now to be a fire. |

To an extent yes(more so Shefter), but if you want to lump them in with Nick "Assclown" Athan that's your call.
These guys aren't JUST looking at team needs and grading out players when they put these last mocks together. They are getting information from inside sources and their asses ride on them being accurate. I'll put you down in the camp for not thinking Newton will go #1 though. |

If the Chiefs move up it better be for Vonn Miller or Julio Jones. Else Pioli should be fired.
And BTW, neither of those two players will be available by the Redskin's pick. |

There is no way in hell we have enough ammo to move up for Miller. He could go as high as #1.

The only person that's worth trading up for (given our current personnel situation) is Julio Jones. WR is the biggest need on this team, and he's one of the very few "elite" players in this draft. |

The Redskins have to get back in the 3rd round. There are 100 picks between when they pick in the 2nd or 4th rounder. It will be something like a 1st, 3rd, 5th and a 3rd next year if this even happens at all. But sign me up for Jones if it does.

When I posted that, I thought Washington was at 6 and Cleveland was at 10. |

From WaltersFootball.com mock.
http://walterfootball.com/draft2011_1.php Kansas City Chiefs: Nate Solder, OT, Colorado In 2009, Scott Pioli drafted for positional value when he selected Tyson Jackson. Last year, he went the "best player available" route with Eric Berry. Both draft strategies would come into play here with Nate Solder. Kansas City has a gaping hole at offensive tackle. I'm not a big fan of Branden Albert, but the huge void is at right tackle, where Barry Richardson struggled last year. Solder, one of the top talents on the board, would be an instant upgrade on the right side, and could eventually transition to left tackle if Albert doesn't improve. Greg is hearing from a source that the Chiefs really like Solder. Other 2011 NFL Draft Possibilities: 1. Phil Taylor, NT - Pioli needs his Vince Wilfork. Unfortunately, Phil Taylor was diagnosed with an inoperable foot condition, which could cause him to drop out of the first round. 2. Brooks Reed or Akeem Ayers, DE/OLB - Kansas City needs help across from Tamba Hali. 3. Julio Jones, WR - The Chiefs want to trade up for Julio Jones. There's a good chance they may do so if Jones drops to No. 12. NATE SOLDER?!!!!! |
