I just ran across an interesting bit of info speculating on the twelfth cylon.
Anastasia, from the greek "Anastacia" means "Rebirth". Dualla is Sanskrit for "Twelve". Ron Moore has said the 12th has been with the show since the First Season, and is not in this promo photo. .

Interesting.
Although I've always thought the character "D" was rather boring and unessential, so I think they'd have to do something spectacular with the reveal. Either way though, that battle scene was a great way to start the season. Really looking forward to the remaining episodes. EDIT: Now, an interesting twist would be Richard Hatch's character (the original Apollo), being the final Cylon. Tom Zarek has been around since season 1, and is not in the photo shown. He was instrumental in the fleet settling on New Caprica, and is obviously a "bad guy" already, but would make an awesome evil guy for the last few episodes. And to follow along with the whole "names have meaning" thing... Quote:

I've also read conjecture that the chalice placed next to Apollo represents Dualla and is another clue she's the 12th.
If you want to read a lot of ideas, scifi's bsg board is the place to go. |

I think Zarek is a great candidate. One person posting at a BSG fan board (Ragnar Anchorage, IIRC) suggested Ron Moore might pull a fast one, and make it someone from Season 1 of the original. Namely, Dirk Benedict as the Cylon God.

I'd prefer Maren Jensen or Laurette Spang.

BTW, looking forward to late May -- we've got a sci-fi convention coming to town featuring Richard Hatch, Aaron Douglas and Tahmoh Penikett.

I hate all those shows.
Old Buck Rogers were better. Look it up on Youtube. Hot women aren't even allowed to be sexy because of current attitudes and times. A woman in hotpants would get all femonazis boycotting. |

Heh. Apparently Jane Seymour was lined up to come back too, back when Bryan Singer was heading the revival effort.

Sorry they couldn't land Grace Park or Tricia Helfer for you. By the way, did you get that DVD I sent? Quote:
Yeah, that was so superior to the modern BSG. Grace Park is smoking hot... Katee is a little butch for my taste, but I still wouldn't toss her out of the sack. Tricia Helfer regularly shows up in some of the hottest and skimpiest clothing on TV, if she's wearing anything at all. If you think shes not allowed to be sexy, you don't know what the word means.

Crap. I thought I did, but my memory isn't what it used to be.
I'll drop (another?) copy in the mail for you. Sorry about that.

Holy cow, there are a TON of sites out there trying to figure out who the last cylon is. The number of theories is insane. I liked one blog post where somebody tried tied each cylon to a lord of kobol, the 12 Gods of Olympus. Ton of people responded with their own comments as well. Amazing how popular this show is.

That's actually a rumor dating back to the podcast for the season 1 finale. Moore made a joke about having the big reveal at episode's end be Dirk Benedict smoking a cigar, the cylon god.

Not only are there hot, sexy women on BSG, there are hot, sexy naked women on BSG.
It's absolutely amazing what they've gotten away with on this show... |

Well, even if we can't have Dirk, at least we don't have to worry about being diverted by sexy women with this new version. Quote:
They made up for it with the "Boomer" meet-up on the Basestar in the first season finale. What about Baltar's folk-singer harem? Something tells me he's going to end up regretting that.
