Of course, before all of that happens Lamar must fire Peterson and Gunther and both of their entire staffs. I know it’s not going to happen. But I just stated this because people keep saying the Chiefs are rebuilding when it’s totally obvious that they are not.
The 9ers are rebuilding. The Chiefs are trying/failing to retool. They are spinning their wheels in mediocrity. It’s time for a change. I hope the Chiefs go 0-16. Then maybe Peterson will finally be fired and we get on with trying to rebuild what’s left of this once proud franchise.
|

The sooner Lamar realizes this the better. It would be best if he did not put this off. He's only prolonging the inevitable.
Who knows maybe he just doesn't want to see the team lose? Maybe he's going to let his son try to clean this mess up after Lamar is dead? |

Some of these fans see a rookie or two starting and think that the team is going into a rebuilding phase. What they ignore is a 43 year old back up QB, 35 year corner back, and a 1960's philosophy in the organization. I thought they should have begun the rebuilding process after Marty left. Instead, they traded a #2 pick for Chester then signed this loser to a long term deal. Then they reward Dan Williams for sitting out a year. They are in the hole. If they go 0-3, hopefully they will begin to unload the overaged, underachieving malcontents.
Who ever replaces CArl will have on bloody mess on their hands. You think the 9ers look bad. Wait until the Chiefs REALLY rebuild. |

Cannibal,
Dont get your hopes up to high. We both know that its about filling the seats at Arrowhead. Carl isnt going anywhere unless the fans abandon the team. And Carl is able to keep the team just good enough to make the fans interested. I recently read where Lamar said that Carl "is the best GM in the business". I doubt he will be fired and you know he wont retire. He has to big of an ego. We are stuck with him. |

I'm hoping Mark Richt will become our head coach or at least OC.

Yeah, it would be cap hell for three years. But we could play a lot of young guys to save money.

Cannibal - Wrong, it would make it impossible to get under the cap even this year, unless you are willing to dump all the people that you mentioned wanting to keep.

With or without Carl. They have got to address that cap problem. They are making a HUGE mistake by paying Elvis all that money. There are MANY QBs that can do what Elvis does for 10% of the cost. They are paying Elvis like a team pay a difference maker. Elvis isnt a difference maker. The team is just as good with or without him.
