Rank the Zelda games

1. Link to the Past
2. Legend of Zelda (NES)

I don't really know how to rank them past that. I haven't beat Ocarina of Time. I know that's top dog for a lot of people. Some people really like Majora's Mask but I haven't even played it. Twilight Princess was really fun. Wind Waker was meh from what I played. Skyward Sword is pretty good from what I've played.

I also really like Adventures of Link for NES. It was different but it's still a classic to me.

I feel like playing a Zelda game. Which one should i play out of these:
Ocarina
Skyward
Wind Waker
Zelda II
Majoras mask

Im in the middle of Ocarina, Skyward Sword, and Zelda II. Id have to start anew with Wind Waker, and Ive never played Majoras Mask once

Not sure about the island (Wind Waker's world was an open sea with a bunch of islands), but Majora's Mask had a clock that you had to keep track of. Certain events only happened at certain times over a 3-day period. I think the game was over at the end of the third day, but you could play a song at any time to take you back to the beginning of the first day. That was also the game that had about a dozen or different masks that you could wear.

I seem to remember Majora's Mask being much harder than Ocarina of Time.

Thanks. Whatever it was I tried it one time, harder than hell.

3. No real side quests to speak of. Once I beat the game it was done for me, I didn't have the desire to play through hero mode.

4. Story. Honestly kind of bland, starts out great enough with a fresh take on the classic storyline but just degraded over the course of the game.

5. Dungeon progression. The first three dungeons are brutally easy with the last dungeons being the better ones. It shouldn't take half the game or more to discover greatness in any game.

7. Traveling around. The reason Wind Waker was a bore to me was sailing around a boring sea all game long with the only rest coming from being on a green island that looked like all the others or a dungeon. I loved Wind Wakers art style, as I loved Skyward Swords, but when a big chunk of the game is spent traveling from point A to point B, I hate looking at the same boring backdrop.

8. Boss battles. Namely the last one, besides the repetition of killing two bosses three times each in very similar ways, there were few boss battles that were well designed. The end boss battle, I really didn't care for and it really wasn't even a multiphase fight, that just signals laziness in my point of view. Where is the multiform Gannon-esque boss battle at the end? Every single Zelda game out there has a better ending boss battle than this one.

So I go into a room with a sky and water on the floor and fight someone who is supposed to be the evilest baddie ever who I spent the entire game trying to not let get released and the only change to the fight was his fighting style midway through and some rain, lightning and thunder? It's exactly like the Shadow Link fight in Ocarina in the Water Temple only the weather changed. It was aweful in my opinion.

I don't like Nintendo because of what they've become, a company that relies on gimmicks over great games. The motion control gimmick was what Skyward Sword was all about, and NOT telling a Zelda story the way it should've been told. IMO they should've taken their time and done it right and put it on the Wii U as a launch title instead of a throw away game on a dying system. I honestly don't think Nintendo will make it out alive after this system but that's just my opinion.

I'm critical of Skyward Sword because every other Zelda game I bought at midnight or the morning after on release all the way back to The Legend of Zelda has had elements that this game short changed on or just decided to leave out, and in that regard I found it to be disappointing and I pray that the next one will focus on the story and not the Wii U's ability to throw things at the screen from the controllers.
I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you on almost every count, you're entitled to your own opinion, but after Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword rekindled my faith in the Zelda franchise.

I'm stuck in the dungeon where you get the wind blower thingy. It's been a while since I've played it so I can't get specific, but yeah...that's where I hit a wall. I'm thinkin about playing it tonight to try to get past that part. I was really enjoying the game up until this dungeon.

I'm old, but "Link to the Past" is, and will probably always be, my favorite game of the series. It's one of my favorite games of all time.

It's got a really cool "Help me!" feature, in case you didn't know. There's a stone statue looking thing beside the sparring hall in the town. If you get stuck, go to that thing and ask for a hint. It will literally show you exactly what to do.

Also, here's a really good walkthrough I found, that you can use as a last resort. I try not to resort to the hints, but sometimes it's impossible.

I still put Link to the past first, then Ocarina of time. That's only because of how great link to the past was when it came out. Loved that game.

How could you not have beaten Ocarina of Time?

I don't know. N64 was a time when I really didn't play games as much as I used to, and when I did, I typically played PlayStation. Almost always a sports game like Madden or something. Then every time I've tried to go back and play it, I always end up playing for a bit, determined to beat it, but then I take a break and never get around to going back to it. I'll beat it one of these days. I guess that game isn't as captivating to me as it is to most.

So I was playing Ocarina last night. I'm at a part where I had to find Saria in the Lost Woods or whatever her name is. She gave me a song to play whenever I want to talk to her. Now I don't know where to go or what to do though. It's been such a long time since I've played that I don't remember where I'm at in the game.

Also I've been playing Skyward Sword off and on the last few days. I got past the dungeon where you fight the crab boss. The one where you have to unbury him with the sand blower thingy. So I'm totally back into that game now. It's pretty good.
