Last year, after Herm was hired, I was almost expecting him to sign with the Chiefs. The defense in Detroit took a step backwards with him as it's def. coordinator.

He did an excellent job with the Jets, and prior to that as a key part of the Ravens defensive staff.

From the story this morning, it seems that Marinelli basically restricted him to Tampa-style D, something which Herm did not do to him in NY. With Gunther as well, Herm has been more hands off and let him dial up many multiple fronts and coverages.

Gunther's doing okay, but Donnie Henderson would be a good addition to the staff as well. It might be a case of too many cooks. We'll see after the year if Herm regrets keeping Gun. I doubt he does.

Gun just needs to get these guys to play more consistant from week to week. Especially in big games on the road.

I'd love to see Henderson come here, especially if it means getting rid of Gunther.
