Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

If Alex Smith ever becomes any part of the Chiefs organization I will lose it. A guy that talented and he played like the ultimate pussy and stat padder. I dont care how good looking and nice he was. How he played football is an insult. He would be the worst coach that ever lived.

Smith coaching: Ok guys we are down by 10 with 11 min left in the 4th quarter. Make sure on 3rd and 10 to tuck it and run for 5 yards to get better position on a punt. You never want to open yourself up to make a mistake or a turnover, plus that hurts your QB rating.

You'll get no argument from me. I ****ing love Mahomes and hated having Alex as our QB.

I'm just trying to be fair. We've got dudes in here saying it didn't turn out to be a good trade and that is erroneous.

I wasn't aware that I was approaching blowhard territory.

Thumbs down this post if you agree that I have become an insufferable blowhard. Thumbs up if I don't bother you.

You know we got it good as a fan base when you have people talking fondly about a guy that averaged 3500 yards and 20 TDs a year while here.

Bunch of Dayton Moores in this thread.

I'll bet Alex refrained from masturbating and looking at porn. Now THAT'S what I call a memorable and successful career!

his big stat games always coincided with peak semen retention dates

the next week he'd have a nocturnal emission and lose all that chi power and go 14 for 23 for 100 yards and 0 TD, 1 INT

I wouldn't say I'm speaking fondly of him. I'm just being realistic.

That trade helped stabilize the organization in desperate times. In full hindsight, it has to be viewed as a win for the franchise.

2013:
Geno Smith (disaster)
Manuel (disaster)
Nassib (disaster)
Glennon (disaster)
Landry Jones (disaster)

2014:
Bortles (out of reach)
Manziel (disaster)
Carr (just good enough to not need replaced; Alex Smith lite)
Garoppolo (just good enough to not need replaced; Alex Smith lite)

2015:
Winston (out of reach)
Mariota (out of reach)
Brett Hundley (disaster)
Seimian (disaster)

2016:
Goff (out of reach)
Wentz (out of reach)
Paxton Lynch (disaster)
Hackenburg (disaster)
Brisset (disaster)
Dak Prescott (would have been a good pick, but you can kiss Mahomes goodbye)

All of these options are either terrible, not accessible realistically, or would result in us no longer drafting Mahomes.

The only other realistic option was Carson Palmer and if you go back in time and we pick him up instead, everything else changes up to this point. Palmer was probably not winning us a Super Bowl from 2013-2017 so nothing changes anyway. We do a lot of spinning our wheels until 2017 when we take Patrick regardless.

Alex Smith did the best he could for us. You can't ask for anything more. He always gave his all. If it wasn't good enough, you guys should be pissed at Reid for bringing him here in the first place.
Here's another tier 1 Alexsexual.

I disagree.

Alex's play style, like Lamar Jackson in a way, is really good for winning regular season games. We all know it is not the winning formula in the postseason, but we don't average 10-11 wins per season with most of those guys at QB.
