Jonathan Martin leaves Dolphins after 'breakdown'

An unusual situation is unfolding in Miami, where Dolphins right tackle Jonathan Martin has left the team after suffering an "emotional breakdown" this week.

NFL Media's Jeff Darlington reported Wednesday that Martin is currently seeking help with his family after an incident at the team's cafeteria, according to team sources.

Martin is listed on the team's injury report with an illness, and is doubtful to play Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Fox NFL insider Jay Glazer reported that Martin was the victim of a prank at the cafeteria, becoming enraged enough to "smash his food tray on the ground."

The second-year pro has not been with the team since that time. Darlington reports that Martin immediately sought treatment at a local hospital. He has since left the hospital and is now spending time with his family, according to team sources.

Martin opened the season as the Dolphins' replacement for Jake Long at left tackle. He was moved to right tackle when the team acquired Bryant McKinnie via trade last week. Tyson Clabo is expected to start in Martin's place on Thursday.

Fun PFF fact: no one in football allowed more pressure than Jonathan Martin last year.

This year he was on pace to allow 16 sacks.

There are a lot of gray areas in this bullshit but one thing is certain, he ****ing sucked at football.

I think we can all agree, the best thing to come out of this is Keitzman's admission that Tim Grunhard dangled his goofy ass over a second story balcony - and the fact that KiKi is still butt hurt over it.

Miami Dolphins lineman Richie Incognito was investigated last year for harassing a volunteer at the Dolphins' annual golf tournament by allegedly molesting her with a golf club, according to Aventura, Fla., police.

The original police report states that the alleged incident happened at the Turnberry Resort & Club in Aventura, but no charges were ever filed against Incognito.

The 34-year-old volunteer told police Incognito had been drinking and was "acting very inappropriate towards her," and that she went to police after Incognito said he wouldn't apologize.

The report states the the female volunteer told police that Incognito "used his golf club to touch her by rubbing it up against her vagina, then up her stomach then to her chest. He then used the club to knock a pair of sunglasses off the top of her head.

"After that, he proceeded to lean up against her buttocks with his private parts as if dancing, saying 'Let it rain! Let it rain!'" the report states. "He finally finished his inappropriate behavior by emptying bottled water in her face."

The story was first reported Thursday by WPLG-ABC in Miami.

The woman, who is black, told several media outlets she has declined to talk because she had signed a confidentiality agreement. Incognito, who is white, was suspended by the Dolphins on Sunday for conduct detrimental to the team amid accusations he bullied and used racially charged terms against teammate Jonathan Martin, who has since left the team.

Martin, a second-year player, is with his family in California, where he is undergoing counseling for emotional issues.

The NFL is investigating whether Incognito harassed or bullied Martin, and whether their teammates and the organization mishandled the situation.

I've been around some knuckle dragging grunting drunk behemoths and I've never seen anything like that happen without provocation. I have seen chicks lie a lot tho.

It looks like some reports got a hold of a Police Report stating her name in conjunction with Incognito. The reporters are trying to get her to tell her story but she states she can say anything because she signed a confidentiality agreement.

Notice in the article it says "The Report States" and not "This Woman is now saying"

On edit and reading a bit further: I thought you meant since she opened her mouth I guess she violated the agreement, to which I wrote the above information stating she hadn't opened her mouth.....yet
