Source: Vikings Increase Offer for Allen

http://min.scout.com/a.z?s=63&p=2&c=...%2f748330.html

According to a source in the Vikings organization, they have increased their trade offer for Jared Allen to 1st and 3rd round picks in 2008 and a 2nd round pick in 2009.

They're starting to bend.....

Depending on what value chart you look at, their 3rd in 2008 and 2nd in 2009 is basically equal to a 2nd in 2008.

I still don't think Carl will accept this just because he gets a sick thrill out of being a SOB during negotiations.

so McKinnie is out? 1st/3rd now and 2nd in 2009 which would likely be upper 50s.

We might be at proper compensation, now.

I'll have to think about it.

DAMMIT CARL

... oh wait, I mean DO IT CARL!!!

The case: Carl is hesitant to break the bank to sign JA because he's a DUI away from a one-year suspension; JA has been a baby about it and doesn't want to be here, and an NFC team is offering 3 first day (or at least what used to be first-day) draft picks. Hate to lose JA, but it's not a bad deal.

Nothing to think about in my book.

Get it done, Carl.

No one else is going to give you THREE early picks for Allen, IMO.

It doesn't really matter. We're not going to the Super Bowl this year.

They're starting to bend.....
Two "average (mid-round)" first round picks equals about 2,000 points on the NFL Draft Pick Value Chart.....they are offering about 1500-1600 points in return. It's closer, but they need to kick in another mid-round choice IMHO.

1st and 3rd this year.....2nd and 3rd next year? Then we'd be talking....
