I imagine putting the fence up around the south end will be protested pretty heavily too. Lots of bums (me included) have watched the game for free from the hill for a long time. That's changed a little with the fairly new big board at that end. But you'll here some wailing over that if a real limestone wall goes up. But it's truly needed. You have to make those hill folks come inside and pay like everybody else.

They really just need to tear it down and build a brand new stadium. They haven't built one in what 90 years? Its time for a new stadium. I realize that it was dedicated as a memorial but the place is just old and outdated and putting band-aids that you're going to have to fix again in a couple more years isn't worth all the money its going to cost. Just build a brand new one and be set for years to come.

You do make a good point. And it doesn't have to seat 60k. It could I suppose. Although I have no idea what it would cost to do that. 300$mil?

With the rate that Lawrence is growing you could easily do that.

Would suck if it had to move off campus though. Its one of the best gameday experiences in America with the close proximity to all the houses for pre and post partying. Whatever they decide will be good though. The recent track record with facilities is Lawrence is second to none.

Baylor is building an outstanding 46,000 stadium for 250 million. Check the Big 12 thread for renderings.

I saw that the day it came out. Renderings look really nice. Although I was thinking KU might want to demo and build on the same lot. You'd have to move off campus for a year or two, which would cause retail to suffer. But the end would justify the means.

The best game day experience? No not even the best game day experience in the state of Kansas. Bill Snyder Family stadium and the K-State fans blow KU's game day out if the water.
