Yep, I think a 16 team playoff would do the trick. 11 Conference champions plus 5 at larges. First round at campus sites, then after that at the BCS sites plus Dallas and Orlando.
Example for this year: Central Michigan at Ohio State Auburn at Boise State BYU at USC Wake Forest at LSU Houston at Michigan Notre Dame at Louisville Troy at Florida Oklahoma at Wisconsin Elite Eight Glendale, AZ Dallas, TX Orlando, FL Miami, FL Final Four Pasadena, CA New Orleans, LA National Championship Game Glendale, AZ |

It is time for a playoff. I don't understand the unwillingness of the coaches and the administration to stop it. They would make a ton more money in a playoff system

I think 16 is a little much. I think a 10 team playoff with the top 2 seeds getting a buy would be ideal.

While I agree that a playoff is necessary, this was the first quality win all year for Boise St. And they BARELY won. If they played the schedule of Florida, OSU, LSU, USC they wouldn't be undefeated and would most likely have more than a couple losses.

I definitely think Boise State deserves a shot. They played Oklahoma, who in all reality only lost ONE game previously to this game. Oklahoma did not lose the Oregon game, even though it came up in the loss column. If that was taken into effect, I can almost guarantee you that it would be Ohio State vs. Oklahoma in the National Championship..and Boise State beat them. You have to hand it to those crazy bastards. I hope the Associated Press votes BSU #1 just to piss the BCS off since their poll doesn't matter anymore in the BCS

You could add Utah and Nevada but Oregon State and Hawaii are quality teams.

They beat OK. They deserved to be there and proved it. What more do you need here?

go to a playoff, but use the bcs system and the bowls. they should use the bcs poll to envite the top 16 in the poll, and they should play in old bowl games, so that the entire playoff is played on a neutral field
16 rutgers vs ohio state in new orleans bowl 15 va tech vs 2 florida in cotton bowl 14 wake forest vs 3 michigan in gator bowl 13 west virginia vs 4 lsu in sun bowl etc etc that way the bcs is still in use and the bowl games dont go away |

And yeah, there really should be a playoff, it would make things so much more interesting and fair, and would also make far more money for the conferences and schools. I'm not so sure Boise State deserves a shot at Ohio State this year, though. |
