Vent. Bros.: Looking back at Season 3 and forward to Season 4
Alright, Adult Swim just aired the Season Finale to Venture Bros., if you haven't seen it yet, don't read on until you've watched it here. There will be spoilers.
A lot of things happened in this episode. For one, Brock quit as both a member of the OSI and the Venture family's bodyguard. It will be interesting to see how the Ventures deal with The Monarch and their other foes now that they don't have Brock to fight them off anymore. At least they still have Orpheus. Speaking of Orpheus, where the f*** was he when all of this went down. I think both he and the Order of the Triad were criminally underused this season. So much time was spent on backstory that a lot of characters got short thrifted. For instance, Triana was only in two episodes this season, and only had a major speaking role in one. What made it even more frustrating was that she hinted that Dean's affection may not be totally unrequited, then wasn't heard from again. I hope that Season Four spends a little more time exploring inter-character relationships. I was generally surprised at who didn't make it through the episode alive. Now that I look back at it, 21 and 24 bragging about how they were unkillable was foreshadowing, but still, that was a shocking and violent death. I'm not nearly as sad to see Helper go, though. I'm really looking forward to Season four. Molotov Cocktease and Hunter Gathers will be fantastic villians, and I can't wait to see how Brock reacts to having to do battle both with his one true love and his former mentor. So what did you guys like or dislike about Season 3 and what are your predictions for Season 4? |

Loved the season, loved the finale. The Monarch barfing when his "Deathshead" getup went haywire made me .
The battle was shockingly violent - the clones being eviscerated on screen was a lot more than I expected; reminded me a bit of Metalocalypse.

Hey Portlantis, so I just heard that Brock isn't going to be in season 4. Do you know anything about that?

I heard that it also revolved around the guy that voices Brock wasn't coming back to the show either.

WHAT?! No Brock Sampson!? That sucks. I think that's the end of the Venture Brothers.

If he's gone then this could be the last season, because he was a big reason why I watched the Venture Bros.

Meh, I have heard quite a few people do some really good impersonations.. I love Brock's character also, but they have a ton of characters to work from to still have the show be awesome..

Replacing voices is lame, and the way Waterburton portrayed Samson was almost the exact way my former Martial Arts instructor acted he was also a retired Navy Seal.
