They don't bother me as much as people who change their devotion to a team when they move to a new city. For example, that douchebag Chiefs fan who got press last year about converting to becoming a Bronco fan.
And then there are the fans who show up out of nowhere when a team is in the Playoffs and they act as if they'd been following "their" team since birth.

I stopped caring about autographs when I was like 20.

autographs are cool when youre a little kid. but if youre over 13 and youre standing in line waiting for a Rafael Betancourt, this is bad.

I don't think I ever waited for an athlete's autograph. I really wanted Boba Fett's autograph though.

Autographs are cool as long as you don't have to pay for them.

My Raider card collection contains everything from their very first card
http://footballcardgallery.com/1960+...George-Blanch/ Right up to the 2000/2001 season when I came off the highway. Most are in Mint shape, with the higher valued cards taken in any shape just to make my collection compleat. As of current I have 98% of the total cards made of the team players from 1960 to 99/20. And quite a few are auto'd. Ken Stabler, , Jim Otto, Merv Hubbard, Fred Blietnikoff, Matuszak, Rod Martin Haven't paid for one yet, never will. As long as you don't hassle a person, why not have them sign something they helped make?

I never really 'collected' autographs but the few times I've been nearby a famous sports person I've asked them for one. Best one I've got is from race driver Denny Hulme who died from a heart attack at Bathurst a few years back, and various V8 supercar drivers like Larry Perkins, Dick Johnson and Peter Brock. Brock (who's also now dead) was the only one who acted like a dick. But you've probably never heard of those guys.

I've had the oppertunity to meet many a Chiefs player and sports player. Use to get autographs but I jquit that about 1997 or so, just felt like talking to the guy and shaking his hand was a good enough memory for myself. I've been to Tony G's apartment on the plaza and talked with him and October. Thats way cooler than an autograph. One time I did ask for a picture with him but that was at a fundraiser and not a private gathering.

Standing in line. **** that.
I wouldn't have minded getting a Jersey signed by DT through the mail. |
