Lay out your game plan against Denver

Going to be tough, tough, tough to beat them at their house in prime time. So lay it out....

how do we attack their defense?

how do we contain their offense?

Agreed.

Establish the running game early. I know we probably won't do this because Reid loves throwing swing passes and crossing routes for 3 yards.

We just can't afford offensive stalls or 3-and-out's against this team. When we finally get in the RZ, score a ****ing TD instead of settling for FG's. I anticipate the Broncos will stack the box and make Alex beat them offensively. I don't have a lot of faith that he'll be able to pull it out.

FG's will not win against Fivehead.

Defensively, just get pressure with four. Poe is the key. He needs to play like he's capable of for four quarters.

Lots of Jamaal Charles, long drives ending in 7 not 3, and hitting Manning early and often forcing 3 and outs, pick 6's and fumbles.

Yeah, this would be certain death the way Smith and our line have looked lately.

Simple game plan on offense.

Do what you do well, bring in Sherman, line up in thd I formation, and get the ball in Charles's hands.

On defense, limited blitzing.
Generate pressure with stunts and overloads, and mug the receivers at the line.

That defensive game plan we had against them in that playoff game was sound. It was our offense that sh$t the bed.

get pressure with the DL; collapse pocket.
Hold LOS.
Don't allow free releases of their receivers.
be 'around' Manning as often as possible / make him uncomfortable
don't allow improv plays by Decker and Welker.
no blown coverages.

Offense;
stay on schedule/down and distance.
no turnovers.
Run/Pass balance.
convert 3rd downs.
Minimize penalties.

I'd like to see JC out in the pattern but a little more vertical and not just swing pass. Force LB's to cover him or bring up a safety. Keep him on the same side as Avery so if they do roll up a S we have 1-1 on the outside. Otherwise I think JC just running a typical TE Out pattern can payoff. Especially if we run it on the same side that Miller is rushing from.
