If you would have told me this 15 years ago...

15 years ago I was a 17 year old kid that lived and died with the Chiefs. I remember watching the Chiefs and Bills in the AFC Championship game and after the Chiefs lost I thought to myself, "Next year will be the year."

If you would have told me the following things that day, I would have compared you to a Chimpanzee with Down syndrome:

1. The Arizona Cardinals will make a championship game before KC does.
2. You will see two more presidents elected before KC wins another playoff game.
3. The following (bad at the time) teams will win a Superbowl before KC ever even makes one.

• Indianapolis
• Baltimore
• St. Louis
• New England
• Tampa Bay

Adding - New Orleans FFS

4. I would get married, have a child and buy a house before the Chiefs win a playoff game.

Who knows what else is going to happen before we see a playoff win, never mind Superbowl!

It’s things like this that I have reflected on recently and they make me wonder why the hell I waste time and money watching and rooting for this team. For the love of god, I actually went to my first Chiefs game on my Honeymoon in 1999.
(Chiefs beat the Lions)

The sad thing is I blame my father. He turned me into a Chiefs fan. Why couldn’t’ he have been a fan of a big market team? I could be posting on Steelers Planet or Giants Planet about how great the team is, instead here we are all excited about the possibility of a new GM coming in and salvaging this team.

Oh well, I know one thing, I plan on putting my son through the same thing. I just hope and pray that I will see the Kansas City Chiefs play in a Superbowl once in my life.

Go Chiefs.

It has definitely been hard to be a Chiefs fan, but fans of few other organizations will be able to feel what we feel if we do ever win it all.

This is probably one of the most depressing threads in the history of CP, at least since I've been here.

I'm not even a Chiefs fan, and I feel for you.

I'm 22 years old and have had the luxury of seeing both the Chargers and Padres play in their Championship games, but never win.

I just wish that would have happened when I was 22, and not 8 and 12, respectively.

I hope thats not their only shot at ever winning it.

I am an avid Lakers fan as well, but nothing compares to my undying love for the Chargers and Padres...

I will start crying like a baby, because my Cousin, whom I got to visit when I was back their, gave me a couple of KC patches as a gift.

He wanted to go to the game with me so bad, but his health wouldn't allow it.

If we do ever win it all we should all fly to KC, and have a championship celebration, share some beer, and bask in the glory.

For now, it is wait and see time. Wait and see whether or not Clark is going to give me a shred of a reason to re up my Sunday Ticket subscription next year.

It really is sad, when you know the team is going to suck, and they don't dissapoint you.

I know exactly what you mean in the threads above. I actually started playing fantasy football so I would have something else to distract me on Sundays. Watching the Chiefs lose always puts me in a bad mood. The wife says I act like a "big baby" after losses but that's just crazy talk.

Letting go of all hope is freedom as a Chiefs fan.

My goodness, I couldn't agree more. It is a total bummer that we suck... but, I feel blessed that my life allows me to purchase the Sunday ticket and enjoy football, even if it's the sucky Chiefs.

Sad thing is, the last time Kansas City won anything was when the Royals won the W.S. against the Cards.

I was 9 and barely remember it.
