Biking Question

I have a Road Bike which I really enjoy riding. I am wanting to branch out a little and take up Gravel and maybe Cyclocross. I have tried MTB, and just didn't care for it.

Any suggestions, tips etc? I am looking at the Salsa Warbird and Trek line of bikes right now.

It was fun to revisit this thread.

I ordered a new bike and it will delivered this weekend (of course when it will be -25 wind chill).

I went with a Titanium Lynskey. 12 speed 1X 40 Chainring 10-44 rear. SRAM Rival AXS XPLR shifting. I have a DI-2 on my trainer bike. I think this AXS is going to be a whole different game. Tire clearance for 45". I am hoping to get a set of road slicks (35") to change out when I feel the need to get some tarmac in.

Once I get everything dialed in, it will be time to sell off the Cutthroat. She has been a great bike to me.

I bought this bike for $1000 less than I paid for my Carbon bike 5 years ago. I never thought Ti would be cheaper than Carbon. I am glad I got 70% off with promo codes.

I bought a bike on Amazon for 89 dollars. Works great. Sits in my garage. Would love to get more into cycling one day to get a carbon one and/or do the mountain biking stuff. I live vicariously through these videos sometimes.

Congrats! Lynskey makes a great bicycle.

l'll be interested to hear how you like the 1x40 setup compared to Di2. My bike is Di2 based, not sure I'd ever go 1X setup, simply because I'm not a super strong rider and Di2 gives me a little more gearing options.

I bet you'll end up purchasing an extra set of wheels to mount those road slicks to. Having two sets of wheels makes everything so easy when switching between gravel and road setup.

It is easier to hide an extra set of wheels than a bike. Eliminates How much did you spend conversation

No doubt.

About 4 years ago I purchased a new bike frame. My wife happened to be home when FedEx delivered it. She asked me about it and then just rolled her eyes and walked off. Fortunately, she never asked, nor did I tell her what I spent on components building the thing up to the specs I wanted.

Congrats.
Have you ever rode Titanium before?
Back in the day I had a Bontrager Race Lite-original Santa Cruz made, that got stolen and I replaced it with a Litespeed Titanium.
I just didn't like the feel and went back to steel frame in a hurry.
Granted this was a long time ago, so I am just curious more then anything.

I rode in a cancer charity ride this past October. 520 miles in six days. I trained up for it for 4 months, lost 15 lbs and added muscle. It was the best thing I’ve done in a long time.
We got to put a person’s name on the jersey I put Nzoners.

That is awesome. When I do charity rides, I always ride with a name of someone I know who had/has the disease in my jersey pocket-MS, Breast Cancer and hopefully ALS this June
