So, Dinny, should I get my daughter drum lessons? She's playing the violin now, but I think it sucks. I always wanted to drum, but I bought a goddamn guitar instead and I suck at it. ****ing shitty guitars.

I was a rocker back in the day. Had a hit record on the radio and was a big star in Peoria, Il. Things were going pretty good. Then about the time I was getting my ass kicked in a nasty divorce, they went and changed the formula of Coca-Cola so it tasted like Pepsi.

Dane, I swear it was more than my system could bear. That's when they started calling me "Dinny Blues, The Freight Train Of Pain" because, you know, it would take a whole freight train to haul around all that pain.


I switched over to playing the blues, and I been playing 'em ever since.

I never had drum lessons, so I don't have any idea.

If you love your daughter support her in what ever instrument she wishes to play. She will do better at her favorite instrument than she will anyone else's. And never, EVER let her make her first dollar playing music. Don't ask, just trust me on this one.

However, nobody gives a shit about the violin after middle school orchestra, but I want her to continue to play an instrument as a personal hobby. Drums seem cool. I like this dude playing them:

Coca-Cola Classic didn't used to be Classic. I was drinking it then. Had to switch to RC. (good move on my part).

Classic Rock didn't used to be Classic. I was playing it then. Had to switch to the blues. (still, another good move on my part).

Currently, I am too old to Rock'NRoll, so I shuffle down and swill the occasional Royal Crown Cola. Easy on the syrup, easy on the gas.
