Why Cassel can't get him the ball deep like that. That is why I think Breaston is starting. He is better suited for what Cassel can do.

I don't get, however, why people have such a difficult time follwing pr_capone's posts on this subject.

He has a legitimate question.

How is it that our first round receiver in his second season not the #2 receiver in this offense, ahead of Breaston?

I get that Breaston is a solid player, but you don't take first round receivers to sit on the bench.

Add '/can't' to 'can' and you've earned yourself a hearty 'this.'

How in the hell is he possibly better suited to Kasl?

He is bigger, taller, just as fast, stronger, heavier, can jump higher, is heavier. The only thing that Breaston beats him at is experience and Baldwin isn't going to get any sitting on the bench.

What does Breaston offer, physically, that Baldwin doesn't?

I am not trying to say that I know this is what it is but I think it truly has more to do with Cassel.
Baldwin is more like Randy Moss. It takes Baldwin a little longer to get up to speed. Randy's numbers dropped from 98 receptions to 68 when Cassel had to step in for Brady.
Breaston is a lot "quicker" than Baldwin so he can get open in less space. Remember Cassel needs a bigger window to throw the ball into. Cassel since he has been with the Chiefs has never been one to "throw it up" to Bowe or anyone else. So it is going against what Cassel is good at or is comfortable doing to have Baldwin in the #2 spot compared to Breaston.

Lets trade Bowe before the deadline for a 2nd round pick (or maybe a 1st?) and then use that as ammunition to go after a QB (assuming we win just enough games to keep us from picking high enough to get one of the Tylers)

Would you rather have Bowe or a QBOTF? (unproven, albeit)

Why would Breaston be better in the slot?

Just another way for you to twist your incorrect assertions

Listen to yourselves.

Dex has one decent game and now he's better than Steve Breaston.

And you wonder why I've gone insane.

Think you need to listen to yourself.

Dexter player 2 seasons under Haley, a guy that had no clue wtf he was doing. Daboll comes in and now McCluster looks like the best receiver on the team. He was talked up all offseason. Then came preseason... Then came game 1...

Yeah, Haley had no clue about WRs.

Pretty sure he was using McCluster as a RB. I could be wrong, though.

We drafted Baldwin and brought in Breaston.

They probably thought Baldwin might be good.

Oops.

I've been saying this since we drafted Baldwin: He has Fitz upside. He needs to develop in order to reach it. He has terrific athleticism, hands and body control. He needs to run better routes and get off the press.
