Thanks for the notes, gobo and bowser. I'm enjoying it too, even though I became fish food in Mission 6.

Interesting note:

I was talking to a retired gentleman the other day and turns out he was involved in restoring a B-17. One of the interesting things was that there are about 600 miles of wire in one of these things! And almost everything is electrical or electrical assisted.

The thing I was wanting to point out though is that he stated that if the landing gear wouldn't deploy they had a big problem. It seems that if they landed on the ball turret, the plane would break in half! So they would jettison the ball before landing. It was pretty easy to do I guess, just a matter of taking a hammer to these two bolts that held it on.

Just thought this might be interesting with the number of belly landings we have had to date.

Remember the movie The Twilight Zone? I think the first segment in the movie involved a B-17 and a ball turret.

I admit, I was awesome on this mission. Before we took off someone mentioned that it was Rain Man's birthday and in honor of his recent death, I pulled a Brett Favre and kicked some major Nazi butt.

And when I imagined having Red pinned up against something, I didn't imagine that it would end that way. Maybe not walking, but not a mess on the dutch landscape.
