***Ask Lonewolf Ed Anything Thread***

Lonewolf Ed was given some bad news recently. While he is going to be busy kicking some butt, I thought this would be a good chance for us to get to know more about our friend.

We are mostly an anonymous group of strangers, for the most part, but sometimes its nice to humanize this place and get some value out of these relationships.

So ask away! Let's get to know his views on life, his funny stories, his firsts, his favorites... there are no rules, except for the ones he makes.

Here's to Ed!

Did you ever head up that little winding road that has a back route to Livingston? At MacLeod, I'd go to that cosy little dive called the Road Kill Cafe to shoot pool and gamble on the video poker machines. I once about broke the place. I was playing video poker, got an Ace and Jack of spades and 3 trash cards. I almost doubled my bet from 25 cents but didn't, dropped the trash cards, and got the King, 10, and then the Queen of spades and that sumbitch started making racket. It finally stopped racking credits and I had won 117.50 off my 25 cents. Bartender had to go into the crawl space and break some money out of the safe to pay me.

Ed,

I rarely post here but get a kick out of this place...

That said, My wife had stage 4 ovarian cancer. Was given 3-6 months to live. She did some chemo treatments, had a hysterectomy, then back to chemo. Along with an herbal alternative which the doctor endorsed (although there is zero money to be made from doing so).

Long story short, eight years later she is still here. Cancer free. Her oncologist calls her his miracle patient, and her doctors have no idea why she beat it. She had it bad.

Hang in there, and research the hell out of the herbal alternatives. That (and prayer) has to be why she doesn't have a cancer cell in her body.

You can do it.

That is terrific news, and no matter how this turns out for me, I hope the two of you live long and happy lives together. Take it from one who has never even heard a woman tell me that she was in love with me, do not take it for granted. Love that woman and relish the love she gives to you.

A general blood test didn't point to what was wrong, just stuff like my prostate was slightly enlarged, had some internal 'roids, cholesterol was borderline high as well as blood sugar. I drastically dropped my carb intake and weight rolled off. I am now down from 214lbs. on New Years Eve to about 185 lbs. Anyhow, diet didn't fix it so the next stop was the colon doc. She did it on July 25th, since she went on vacation on me and I was supposed to have it on June 13th.

A mass was found and it was cancer, then a scan showed a problem with my liver, and just this past Monday, the atomic bomb was dropped that I have stage IV uncurable liver cancer, and 10 weeks to live without treatment, and with chemo, the best case is another 3 years.
Since you said your blood sugar was high, you might talk to your doctor/oncologist about Metformin. It is an anti-diabetes drug, but there is a lot of strong evidence that it is a good anti-cancer agent.

Before the big C was discovered, I was afraid of the diabetis. I drastically cut carbs, no taters, almost no bread (dear God, I love a sammich, too!), and dropped weight. My friend's dad had a new spare blood tester kit that they gave me, and I got tired of checking after a while and seeing numbers consistently in the 90s, 100, and 110s. I even experimented once and had an apple, orange soda with sugar, and half a small bag of hard candy for lunch. Two hours later, blood was at 104. Fists pumped, feet did little happy shuffle.

Probably have as I lived in Montana for 24 years of my life, although on the opposite side of the state from that area. I've heard of the Road Kill Cafe but I never went there. Funny that the bar didn't have a $100 for you!

Does your family still have that land in Montana?

It was a 6th grade romance, bro. We met at basketball camp. We wrote letters to each other.

Sadly, no. My dad should have died from an aortic aneurysm Aug. 2, 2005, but he recovered. He put it up for sale thinking he'd never be able to go back.
