***Ask Lonewolf Ed Anything Thread***

Lonewolf Ed was given some bad news recently. While he is going to be busy kicking some butt, I thought this would be a good chance for us to get to know more about our friend.

We are mostly an anonymous group of strangers, for the most part, but sometimes its nice to humanize this place and get some value out of these relationships.

So ask away! Let's get to know his views on life, his funny stories, his firsts, his favorites... there are no rules, except for the ones he makes.

Here's to Ed!

My short list of suggestions:

Anderson Valley Oatmeal stout (if you enjoy stouts, its the best I have had)

Bear Republic - Red Rocket

Lagunitas , Little Sumpin or IPA

Anderson Valley Boont Amber

Russian River - Pliny the younger (feb. only i believe) or elder, or anything else by them..

Ace Cider Company out of Sebastopol - Joker or maybe Berry (yes not beer but god damn so delicious)

Hopland - Red Tail

Or anything else around Sonoma/Mendocino/Napa county?

I'd be happy to ship you anything thats tough to get out there thats on your list
Thanks. I've had some CA brews. I can get Lagunitas around here. I'm not into the IPAs and heavily hopped brews, though. I had one from Bear Republic, can't recall the name, but the label has a dump truck unloading hops into a brew kettle. That one gave me indigestion instantly and when I burped, it made my eyes water. As Gordon Ramsay might say, "Shocking!"

Yah Lagunitas is getting huge now, opened a plant in Chicago..

I guess I still think of them as local since the original brewery is about 15 minutes from my house...

Theres a brewery near my house called woodfour that might brew beers more to your style if you are not much of an ale fan:

http://woodfourbrewing.com/ (more of a lager / pils style)

http://menu.w4brewing.com/Menu/w4beerlist.pdf

If youre ever in the area, would love to get you drunk there...

Cheers my man

In light of what I know now, I guess I'd tell my 18 year old self that it is a good thing I would never get married or have kids. My 30 year old self, I might say don't bother thinking about where you will retire. It is a hard question to answer since my future is looking to be very brief.

Since you have no wife or children, can you leave me all your money and worldly possessions?

Seriously, though, I'm with Fat Elvis.
Don't give up.

I haven't called you a dumbass nearly enough, and figure I need at least 20 more years to make up for that.

I appreciate the gallows humor. I've always had a dark sense of humor as well as regular old humor. I've started thinking about what I want to give to my friends, like one who had gone to Denmark with me twice, he always wanted to read the trip logbook I made with entries about things I did and saw each day, so I want him to have those. It's a task I need to complete, but it's hard to get through it.

Stop thinking in those terms, Ed.

Set your own prognosis.

I'm by no means a hippie, but with typical medicine saying your outlook is grim, have you looked into alternative medicine to complement your normal treatment?

One of my cousins had me get an ozone generator, which you can use to clean the air or water to drink. There is a more complex application as well, with the hose pumping out the ozone. Not so sure about that, though. Google uses for ozone therapy and you might see what I am getting at.

I guess I didn't word that right. I want to have instructions left for who gets what in case I don't make it, and I don't want to have to worry about that base being uncovered. Once I make the list, I don't have to think about it again.

Ed,I'm also on another board where a couple of guys are in similar situations and one of the guys said something to one of our board members about his friend that immediately made me think of you and I wanted to share it with you.

"I've been terminal and incurable for almost 15 years. They're words. They don't come with a deadline. Tell him to fight. Fight like a mfer. Fight dirty. Just keep fighting."

Best of luck brother.
