Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

If the Pats win, is the football on the trophy deflated?

I just think that because its the Pats its become a bigger issue than it really is... combine a lot of people hating their success, with a large dose of spygate and then throw in the media hype that always surrounds that team and you have a recipe for something being blown out of proportion.
Every team is allowed to mess with the ball to get it to their liking BEFORE the refs inspect and approve them.

No one is allowed to alter the ball AFTER their approval, which is what the Pats did.

We'll see.... If they get a $1M fine and lose one draft pick, that's the same as condoning the activity. What's that, 1/50th of what the league gives each team each year? And when was the last time the Pats really needed many draft picks?

To these guys that's a $10 fine and being told you have to say home for an extra hour before you go out partying after getting a DUI. The Pats would say, "they don't know how they got drunk, they didn't make the drinks, they did what they were told and ordered from the girl in the short skirt, and they're just people so they didn't even know the drinks had alcohol in them." Goodell's answer will, as usual, be, "all great points guys, don't worry this wasn't your fault."

Because they cheated, got caught and most of all, are playing this "huh?" game. I think a couple things are fueling the fire. The history of the Pats cheating and the fact that they got caught again and are handling it as poorly as you could.

Meh, I'd be more than happy to have a slightly tainted SB, or three, that the NFL defends to the end.

At this point I'd be OK with Clark having three or four replicas made and put into the trophy case in Arrowhead. Make it 5% larger, turn the laces a bit (perhaps laces-in), and use a @ instead of an a in "Lombardi" (Lomb@rdi), and tell the NFL what the hell they're talking about, "it not at all like the ones the Pats were given!"

The league is becoming more of a joke every year but this is still nothing compared to Denver needing Vince McMahon interference to get by KC in the 97 Survivor Series....err playoffs.

For Bill Belichick - Keep your eye on the big prize - His run-up to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Judging by Pro Football Selection Committee members published pieces, Spygate might cost him a bronze bust in Canton, Ohio.

He certainly did not help his cause by talking about the scandal for the first time in Saturday’s weird and defiant press conference.

Odd how something that cost so little in terms of a fine could keep you out of the HOF.

Not to defend Bill, but with as light and unimpactful as his transgressions have resulted in, I'm not sure I understand how another group of NFL insiders could possibly come to such a different conclusion.

Roger Goodell imposed the biggest fine ever on a coach in NFL history - $500,00 which was actually paid by Kraft when he raised Belichick's salary the following year.

What would this be worth for the Chiefs:

Quarterback 10% more accurate
WR catch the ball 10% more consistently
Players fumble the ball 10% less often

What if gaining better grip by deflating the ball gives that 10%?

I don't know the exact benefits but i don't think you can just dismiss it as no big deal.
