Teams that held their opponents to less than 120 yards are 147-2. Those two losses were both by the Muschamp coached Gators: a 21-7 loss to FSU in 2011 and tonight against Mizzou. He needs to be fired now.

This normally would be the point where someone would look at Mauk's play and make a Matt Cassel reference, but I just don't want to be the one to insult Cassel in such a fashion.

I do not think it is historic, I think it continues. It is called a trend.

I take a slow measured approach to decide someone needs to go. Last year a couple times I thought he would be fired, but I thought he needed more time.

Trotting Driskel out over and over just sealed the deal for me. He fired himself by not making a change sooner and letting that game get so far out of hand. At least if a young red-shirt freshman shows promise in the offense than there is something to build on and hopefully coach that kid up. Driskel should have been moved to tight end this year, and probably before this year.

Not to pile on, but this has to be the worst QB play (including Gabbert), worst offensive line and worst receiving corps of the Pinkel era doesn't it? It clearly is for OL and receivers, not 100% sure about QB. Mauk is young and can improve, but he looks ****ing terrible. He creates his own pressure with his stupid pirouettes, can't go through progressions, appears to have no touch on short- and intermediate passes, and looks like he has zero confidence in himself. Anyway, whatever. At the end of the day, I'll take six more wins just like yesterday.

That's a pretty big insult to Gabbert.

People say Mauk is "young" but he's the same age Gabbert was in his final year, yet he's completing 51% of his passes (compared to 63%), and he's already thrown as many picks as Gabbert did his entire junior year.

Mauk is not going to improve. His confidence is shot, he looks at the rush, and he was never that good anyway.

As far as the other elements, I'm not sure. The WRs are ****ing horrible, so I would probably agree, but Jerrell Jackson, Wes Kemp, and TJ Moe weren't much better, but the backs are certainly better than what they trotted out in 2010 (Josey was super young).

I think if they get rid of AJ Ricker this offseason and open up the QB competition you might see a pretty big difference. If not, I have no faith that any of the OL recruits from last year will do anything, because even solid players like Boehm have regressed significantly.

Re: Mauk - yeah, you are probably right about improvement. It's his 3rd year in the system and he looks lost. Regarding AJ Ricker, I thought he would be a big improvement both on the field and in recruiting. Neither has materialized and you could argue that recruiting has regressed (play obviously has regressed). In general, our recruiting sucks. I'm sick of the diamond in the rough bullshit. Pinkel has identified some talent that many others don't (don't really feel like naming names), but as a whole, stars matter and offers from other schools matter. Forgive me for not ordering my national championship tickets when we are signings guys with offers from middle Tennessee state and Iowa state.

I just looked at Arkansas schedule and my biggest fears are coming true, its looking like we're gonna be assholes first conference win if we don't get that offense improved, before you jump down my throat we're still gonna win 3-4 more games with our defense but with their NFL line its looking like we're gonna give bert his first conference win, damn it I didnt want to be burts first. Lets pray they beat LSU if not it will be us.
