Saban will be fired at Alabama if he doesn't give them what they want.
Though I would expect him to bail on them the first time someone dangles more money in front of him. Saban's definitely a coaching whore.

Is Charlie Weis still employed?

I don't think that Pete will ever have a horrible year but it would have to get really bad for him to get fired, he's much more secure with SC than he'd be with any NFL team.

How much was he making with the Falcon's. I'm betting that Arkansas is offering him at the very least 2 mill a year.

He has only had 1 bad year. If they suck next year he will be gone I bet.

Pete may not ever have a horrible year but to say they would stay with him if he starts sucking is awful naive.

I agree about his job security there is no job security in the NFL except for the Broncos apparently

I think it came to this, he took the Louisville contract...then he got an NFL offer something I doubt he expected. He gave it a go, decided he didn't like it and came back to college.....I suspect he'll be there for awhile now.

I don't think this is some asshole guy screwing people over, he got a chance at the NFL he went for it and decided he didn't like it.

Atlanta is a very racist city, but it's reverse now. Kind of strange to watch being a white guy from Iowa, but it's amazing how white people are viewed/treated down here, especially the public ones.

If you're a white guy that's accused of anything--you're guilty no matter what, if you're black, you are innocent period. At least that's the way the media covers it down here, and how the public reacts to things. It's really quite strange to be honest.

That being said, I can't imagine that anyone would want to take over the Falcons job now. The players have proven they can get rid of a coach, which means the next coach has no power. The team will have to be blown up which means they're gonna suck for a long time. This job is going to be the worst possible one you can take in pretty much all of coaching. Ouch.

There's no such thing as reverse racism - racism is racism.

If he stays until the end of the season he loses a lot of ground on the recruiting trail.

Also, if Nebraska can sign Callahan to a 10yr extension and then fire him at the end of the same season, why is it bad for the coach to leave early? Double standard, IMO.

Also a double standard for people in sports. If you take on a new job, find out that you absolutely hate it, no one expects you to stick around for years doing something you detest when a job opportunity you'd enjoy presents itself.

That's right, what I have a problem with is how these guys go into situations like this (like taking over a 300 million dollar team) and treat it like it's a toy at Christmas, I don't like it so I am leaving now. I think it's a shitty move. He should have the decency to wait until the end of the season, but I guess I can see the recruiting angle.

I agree there is some double standards involved but when a coach demands loyalty and not quitting from his players and then less than 24 hrs later quits on them who is the hypocrite?

To me excuses walk. He could have waited 3 more weeks when the season was over it is not going to make that much difference.

The funny thing is of all the sports college football and to some extent college basketball coaches are the least loyal of all of them. Alot of them quit their jobs and go somewhere else but in the NFL you have to practically drag them out kicking and screaming. NFL head coaches like Herm going from one team to another while still under contract is pretty rare.
