Will the SOC fire up if no QB in the first?

Just curious. I hope so because it would royally be depressing.

I was agreeing with you. And raising the ante.

Sorry if you took that as an attack or something.

The Rams weren't his first team. They were the first team he was on the active roster for, but not the first one that he signed a contract with.

Yes.

I was just pointing out some thing that I hold to be inaccurate.

I am on your side of the QB discussion.

The only teams since 2000 to have made and won the Superbowl with a QB that didn't make their professional debut for them were the 2000 Ravens, 2002 Raiders, 2002 Buccaneers, 2003 Panthers, 2005 Seahawks, 2008 Cardinals, and 2009 Saints.

It would obviously be total lunacy to say that Nick Foles even belongs in the same discussion as any of those guys. But to immediately dismiss him as a retread who has no chance of winning would be just as wrong as trying to compare him to guys like Favre, Young, Theismann, Warner, Plunkett, and Dawson.

I'm not taking issue with your position of wanting the Chiefs to draft Geno Smith. I WANT the Chiefs to draft Geno Smith. I think he's the best prospect out there, and I think it would be awesome for the Chiefs to start over with a highly regarded rookie quarterback. I guess what I'm taking issue with is the argument that retread quarterbacks have no value. They can have great value under the right circumstances, and that's why I'm not going to jump off a bridge if Andy Reid decides that Nick Foles is the guy he wants.
You are right all those guys you named were so called " retreads". And they faired pretty well.

Kurt Warner didn't make his professional debut with the Packers though. He signed a conditional contract and was cut in training camp.

He was never "on the team".

And the 2002 Raiders, 2003 Panthers, 2005 Seahawks, and 2008 Cardinals made the Super Bowl but didn't win, just FYI.

Yeah. I thought that post was a bit unclear so I posted this later on:
