Unreal Estate Game: Minnesota
We're almost at the end of the state by state round. The North Star state is up. Here are your five well-insulated homes.

Having just moved from MN after 18 years, tough call between Minneapolis and St. Paul. Summit Ave in St. Paul is gorgeous, and really close to a great area on Grand, and two of the best beer bars in town on Selby. Wish the house had been updated more, though.
The Minneapolis house is in kind of a weird spot, but the proximity to downtown MPLS and the city lakes would be awesome. The house is trying a bit too hard to be modern, has no yard to speak of, and presumably shared a wall with a neighbor. I'll go with the St. Paul house. More character, great location, decent yard, and great bluff views. |

My candy ass wants no part of the ultra cold. 50K.
If however you could move the Minneapolis house to South Beach, I'd do that. I'd even throw in the 50K to help with moving expenses. |

My rankings:
St. Paul - I wasn't expecting to pick this house, but when I mapped it, it's near a nice trail system and is relatively convenient to restaurants. The house doesn't dazzle me, but it's got plenty of room and is nice. I pick this place. Emily - I really like the style of the house, and 569 acres is a lot of land to tool around on. It's not really convenient to anything, but for that house on that land, I could be okay with that. Big fan of this house. Owatonna - Love this house. This is an awesome house. The location isn't bad, but the local parks aren't big enough and the restaurants look mediocre. But I love the house. Minneapolis - I want to like this house. I should like this house. But something's not quite right. The proportions are off. It's in town near some nice looking parks, but not really convenient to restaurants. Not bad, but not ideal. Nevis - Great house, nice views, but I don't think it's convenient to anything. I could live in the house, though.

I am never moving to Minneapolis or St. Paul. I live close enough now. I like the burbs.
Owatanna would be good. About an hour+ south of the MOA. Southern Minnesota is nice. But if I get to retire, Northern Minnesota is good, but I will be going south for the winters.

There are 9 lots left in my development to be purchased.
Good: they are half the price of those listed. Bad: One of you has to live next to me.

Rural schools are more likely to have snow days. We don't in the metro unless it is an apocalypse.
