Eh, let's not suck each other's dicks just yet.

They absolutely gave away Game 1. Russell swinging at ball 4 when Rosenthal couldn't find the strike zone with a flashlight and a map; Coghlan not going to second as the trail runner after the Cards got damn lucky that Yadi's laziness was overcome by a fortuitously place foot by the umpire (or Almora's into 3rd easily).

Game 2 was legit; Cardinals just won that one.

Game 3 was pretty heinous baseball by Chicago. They mis-played 3 balls that led directly to runs and ended up getting Arrieta chased a full inning earlier (and probably 2). Now granted, the Cards were opportunistic and sound in game 3, but that game's probably still going if Rizzo or Bryant played halfway decent defensive games.

The Cubs just weren't sharp in this series. It could have very easily ended up 1-2 against but/for some miscues that the Cubs simply haven't been making this year.

our starting pitching, hitting, defense, relievers and base running were better. We were clearly the better team for those 3 days.

Here is the million dollar question.....How many games do we have to needlessly lose before WLR makes a change at closer? I say 8 more minimum.

Oh should be the closer, hands down. It's not even a debate. Siegrist can handle setup and Rosenthal can go see a sports psychiatrist or get on a bus to memphis.

I've wondered if sending him down to work as a starter might help him to slow things down, work on his control, and gain some consistency and control of secondary pitches. Set up roles for him I think will just be more of the same.
