Yeah, that's a great cruise site if you're trying to compare between cruises, find good sailing dates, etc. They added a custom search feature that's really nice a while back. When I went to Alaska I monitored that site constantly to find the best deal on a cruise to get me back from Alaska to Vancouver.

Supposely cruisecompanies only break even with the room rentals. They make their profit on the alcohol and pictures.

If you go on a cruise, you could always bring your own alcohol onboard. It would save you some money.

Without a doubt Hawaii is the place to go. Doesn't really matter what time of the year you go, it's always great.
Air tickets run between $700 - $1500 each. Motels run $180 and up depending on what you want to pay. Food can be had reasonably if you don't go to the big name spots. Always MCD and other fast food places. Picking which Island is the big thing. Big Island is great, Maui is as well. Kauai is probably the best, and maybe the least expensive, Oahu is full of history from the attack in WWII. I've been there a few times and will be going back for one of our 5 year anniversaries. If you have ties to military I understand there are some deals you can get, not sure of what ties you have to be lined up with but the Army, AF, Navy and Marines all have bases and some of them have lodges you can get hooked up with for less than 1/2 of what you pay at the beach motels. We've been to Jamaica, good but not like Hawaii. Puerto Rico also good but they don't like tourists much if you get to the wrong areas. I think I saw someone recommend an abbreviated honeymoon and save for a big one. I don't think much of cruises, I'm prone to motion sickness as is my wife. If you have motion problems I'd also rule out a deep sea fishing expedition! |

Drinks are not outrageous, considering you're floating on the ocean and they've had to cart everything onboard. Your average fru-fru pina colada will run you around $7-8 more or less, I think beers are a little cheaper. Stay away from souvenir glasses. The biggest problem is that you don't pay as you go, so people drink up a storm and then get hit with a $500 bar bill. I keep all my receipts as I go and keep a tab of what my bill is going to look like, so when I settle up at the end of the cruise I don't have a coronary. Cruises used to be ultra-expensive, all-inclusive, and only for the wealthy. Cruise lines have learned to tone down the room prices and try to nab more "a la carte" cash for drinks, photos, souvenirs, shopping, gambling, and shore excursions. You also don't get free soda, but coffee, iced tea usually, and juice at breakfast are free. (If you drink a lot of soda you can buy a soda card for the week, usually around $35-55, which is cheaper than buying it by the glass daily.) |

Looks to me like you have about 7 months to get out of this, dude. That's plenty of time to escape.

With airfair $1,863 $350 per person on airfair Interior cabin $782 Oceanview suite $1,302 Includes all meals, entertainment, 24 room service. Shore exclusions not included. How are those prices? That's with our military discount. Obviously, the 7 day is out of the question. |

Booked a 4 night cruise from Miami-key west-cozumel, mexico today. The total was $778 without flight. Now I get to figure out how to pay for the flight which is around 350 a person round trip and spare cash for the cruise. I'm pumped about it and it should be fun. They've got a few shore excursions such as swimming with dolphins, hanging with dolphins, ATV rides, snorkeling and a few beaches (open bars). They all range fom $60-120 a person.
