"You know wrestling is not real, right?"
Whenever someone says that I want to rip their face off. No shit, I watch it because it entertains me. And yea, I know its scripted and predetermined but its still dangerous. Injuries happen all the time. Why do you think so many wrestlers die via "the wrestlers concoction (alcohol and painkillers)". I'd like to see one of you "wrestling is fake" people and see if you could last 3 days in a pro wrestling school. The bumps are real. Yea the ring has some padding but that only cushions so much. All those constant standing bumps, top rope bumps, bumps outside, chair shots, blading (outside of WWE), etc...day in day out for about 300-320 days out of the year will take its toll on anyone. You gotta give these guys a little respect.

Maybe they like booze and pills cause it makes them high? A steady dose of whiskey and norcos will make you feel like a freight train.

What? Combat acting? I love these threads and I'm rarely surprised at the jokers who watch this shit. But this one is moderately surprising. I really thought Reaper at least was somewhat discerning.

The show is more towards kids now, and has lost a lot of older viewers because of it. I know my friends and I watch it while playing Madden ect. I enjoy it, I don't mind saying that. Some of it is more so from enjoying how bad it is an a funny way, but of course there are story lines I enjoy. Quote:
I think most people have a show that may not be emmy-worth that they watch. Its more about enjoyment, perhaps nostalgia, that keeps some like myself watching. You enjoy watching your guy win like you enjoy somebody on Lost proven right or something like that. They really don't try to pretend its real aside from trying to protect the integrity of the show much like how nobody on Seinfeld would turn mid scene and say, he this isn't real. In fact, there are plenty of segments where they actually do make comments on it being fake that only kids wouldn't pick up on. |
