I worked at Universal for years. No one "hated" Warner Brothers or Sony. I worked at Paramount for almost a decade and no one hated Uni or WB.

I just find this kind of thinking to be outdated, especially in a time when people change jobs so frequently.

The loyalty is to yourself, not to a corporation.

C'mon Dane, the NFL is a different deal. There's 32 distinct franchises, all in competition with one another. And it's bad karma to see your leader wearing gear from another franchise. He can wear all the NBA or MLB stuff he wants. He should stay away from wearing gear from an NFL team that doesn't sign his paycheck. It's just bad form.

Well, respectfully I disagree, George.

The 49ers are not rivals to the Dolphins. They're not even in the same division, let alone, conference.

Wearing a hat doesn't equate to "Traitor", IMO.

...or what? If you work for Coke and get fired, you're job hunting. If Kapernick gets cut, his phone immediately starts ringing off the hook with teams begging to pay him 10x what he's currently making.

This is not Coke versus Pepsi. Coke and Pepsi aren't the same corporation. They don't run advertisements from a pooled fund to promote soft drinks. They don't agree to some set of rules to ensure that their sales are as even as possible. They don't swap employee contracts. There is nothing about this analogy that is pertinent.

I would need to see another picture to know how to feel about this. If he is wearing that Dolphins hat to match with some white trunks then that's a classy move that I think the 49ers fans could appreciate.

Raiders would be the worst possible one. Hey, I see both sides of this, but I still think there's enough fans that this bothers that a QB, a guy who is your leader, doesn't need to stir up any shit on the side like this. The reality is that team loyalty matters a lot more to the fans than it does to the players. Kaepernick probably through the hat on without even thinking about it.

I understand this line of thinking, but the players don't owe me a thing other than to give it their all in terms of winning games. Beyond that, they don't owe me a ****ing thing.

Contractually, there are PR appearances almost certainly in those contracts, so, the situation is a bit more complicated.
