A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking his screwy delivery would drop him into the second round. I really don't think that's going to work in the NFL.

But given his huge performance, I'm not sure now.

Picks 1,2,3,4,6,9 and 10 could all use a QB. I say in the top 10. I think Leinert still has the edge because he has shown he is a passer first. Bush will be taken in the top 3. Young can use a little more work as a passer so I think he'll go 3-10.

Just out of curiosity... why do you think young needs more work as a passer?

I agree... but I also believe Leinhart needs work as a passer as well..

His throwing motion is low. I think it will lead to lots and lots of passes being batted down and/or intercepted.

I understand that his throwing motion calls for a low release, but is there anything else that calls his ability to be a NFL QB into question?

I really appreciate the national perspective on this kid.

Titans will take him at #3 so he can sit for a year and be mentored by Air McNair.

His release point is to low, his footwork is bad. Everything about the way he passes will need to be changed for the NFL game. Even Micheal Vick has proper passing mechanics, this guy doesn't even have that. He also doesn't have Vicks arm strength.

All of that being said, some team will probably risk it high and pick him. I hope they do, the more iffy players that go high the better chance the Chiefs have of getting a better player.

I understand why those who are a bit leary of Vince say those things...
Those of us who have seen him play since high school are optimistic, because we have seen how clutch this kid is despite looking unorthodox.

Here is a post I posted on another board to a fan who said he hasn't seen him make any good throws, now keep in mind I know, that VINCE has to improve, in many areas, but so does everyone else coming into the league...But here is some of the potential we Vince Young fans see:

Vince will be taken higher than he should...he has suspect arm strength, and like Bill Simmons said, it looks like he's trying to get dog crap off of his hand when he releases the ball.

While I will agree that his motion is unorthodox... there aren't many scouts, that I have heard an analysis that said his arm strength was in question... He has a much stronger arm than Leinhart.

So what he has a weird release the guy is 6'5" so he can get away with that, and therefore their shouldn't be a worry about batted footballs by D-linemen.

Elvis Grbac is 6'5" as well. Of course it should be a concern. He isn't going to get the kind of throwing lanes he got in college.

Yes, he will. He'll create throwing lanes with his feet....side-stepping, rolling out of the pocket, etc.
