Harrison of NFL.com ranks his top 10 QB's of '15 and Alex....

You can read the full list and see video here

Here's a small excerpt

Competition was fierce at the 10-spot, coming down to Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco and Matthew Stafford. If we were talking overall careers, Manning would be the choice. Flacco presents an interesting argument, because he tends to light it up in nationally televised games. At the same time, there's no question he's been inconsistent since winning Super Bowl XLVII. Stafford's inaccuracy in key spots has driven Lions fans crazy. Newton's calling card has never included on-the-mark throws, but his overall game can be a nightmare for defenses. Ryan, meanwhile, has been the most consistent, and was ultimately the toughest to leave off.

So why Smith?

This is where I'm at. We have a credible supporting cast and he needs to significantly increase his numbers.

27 TD's and 3,700 yards is the benchmark for me.

Don't care about the stats as much as being able to win close games against good teams.

130 yards in a 2 score win?

Don't care about the yards.

130 yards in a 1 or 2 score loss?

I want him to jump off a cliff.

You can take it however you'd like. I don't quite frankly give a ****. I wasn't defending Smith, I was making a valid and obvious observation. You're incapable of comprehending, so therefore you are a lost cause when it comes to having any form of an intelligent conversation.

You sir, are incredibly bored and/or lonely and insist on making arguments out of nothing, for entertainment purposes. So do whatever tickles your fancy, fella.

Things are certainly different, and I'm with you that I'm hopeful they are better. but WR2 is still a ?, as is the entire line. Different is ABSOLUTLEY 100% better, but we'll need to see what happens on the field. If the line can be at worst adequate, and we get some kind of production out of WR2 so that teams have to at least honor him and not just load up on Maclin, then I agree... Smith should perform well.

Well, for me... yes. If the line still sucks complete ass for the reasons that you mentioned... then that will be a legitimate reason NOT to crucify Smith for failure of the offense. The line is everything.

Absolutely everything. You don't have a line, you don't have anything.

WR's... I'm ok with. Still a question mark at WR2, but at this point, Maclin, Avant/Wilson/Connely, DAT, Kelce, Charles... he's got the weapons. Best weapons he's had by far his entire career. It's just a matter of the line.

Out of Wilson, Avant or Conley someone will step up and lock themselves in to that #2 spot.

I bet Albert Wilson has been working his ass off since they drafted Conley.

As long as there is an Alex, there will be Alexcuses.

Ya. He's pretty good alright. I mean look at his career. The guy just ****ing oozes success. Going 15 games without throwing a TD pass to a WR is a unique talent that guys like Rodgers, Brady, Manning, Brees, etc... wish they could master.

Some of the lines struggles start with Smith holding the ball too long, too.

He needs to get the ball out sooner or take off with it.

And yet still lead an above average scoring offense.

And is 38-16 over the last 4 seasons.

Say what you want, the guy wins football games BETWEEN THE EARS.
