We are not tanking the season by trading Smith.

Maybe tanking is to strong of word but going with a rookie, even one as massive excitement that is Mahomes, would be just to get him ready for next year.
Alex is the best choice to start the year.

If I thought Tyler Bray would make an adequate backup I'd pull the trigger but I don't even though he had the beaut of a touchdown pass he still throws erratic and that's going get our guys hurt.
I just say keep with what we are doing and if Alex gets hurt so be it Patrick Mahomes II can handle it when the time comes.

Huh we could win with Patrick Mahomes II. He is showing what he is capable of doing and he doesn't have to do everything because we have a killer defense that forces turnovers.

Mahomes looks amazing, but I really have no issue with letting him sit behind Smith for a year.
And if Smith goes down with a serious injury, Mahomes is still waiting in the wings. 2018 is his time. |

I agree I was laughing at the post saying we would be tanking by trading Smith. I'm a Mahomo don't worry.
