Do you blame LJ for the fumble and/or loss?
While I know it's the running back's responsibility to control the handoff, it's obvious from the replays that Johnson never had the ball. It's not like he was careless with it, or wasn't protecting it. It was just a bad exchange.
Pffft. (Dismissive hand wave.) |

He got hit right after he got the handoff, which didn't help.
I thought Aikman made a good point: LJ didn't give Trent much of a "pocket" to insert the ball. I suspect LJ saw the Eagles guy running up to fill that hole and it distracted him. So, blame the Eagles guy for influencing the play, but blame LJ for not doing his job. |

I partially blame him, but not entirely. His mistake definately set the tone, momemtum in Phillys favor, no doubt. However, this was a total team failure from both players and coaching.

Yes and no.
Yes because he never secured the ball, and that's job #1. No because Kearse was in his grill so fast. Hell, he might have dropped the ball from sheer shock. There's no excuse for that kind of a breakdown in blocking. |

I don't blame LJ, I don't blame Trent, I place the blame on DV & AS for having LJ in the game to begin with. Priest was having a good 1st half & should have been in the game. If he is ineffective, then pull him for LJ

It would have been nice if someone had blocked the Eagles player on that play so LJ would have had a chance. Then it would have been nice if the coaches wouldn't have made bone-headed descisions. Then it would have been nice if the players could have found the resiliance and heart to not blow it completely.

i would tend to agree with some that have said that the changing of the rb's isn't a good thing, especially when 1 of the rb's is going good. I would have to say that Priest was doing just that. Like was mentioned last week, it doesn't seem like LJ hits the hole like he needs to, it is almost like he has reverted back to his first or early second year where he is thinking too much and not just exploding through the hole.
Trent never was the same after the INT was returned and the Eagle score right before the end of the 1st half was big. But even bigger was the inability to stop them on their first drive of the 2nd half. That was the double-edged sword.

the coach should know to send the RB in better shape on the field, can't blame it on the players.

The turning point in the game wasn't LJ's fumble.
The idea that the Eagles seized momentum before halftime is horseshit. The Chiefs made no adjustments at halftime, on offense or defense, and lost by 6, despite leading at the half by 11. Don't blame LJ. Blame the COACHES. |

All of the turnovers hurt. All of the missed tackles and missed sacks hurt. The defensive coaching scheme hurt. The offensive coaching scheme in the 2nd half hurt. It was an all around team and coaching loss, just like the Broncos game.

I blame the coaches for putting LJ in when Holmes was shredding. I'm tired of this fucking experiment. Let the best RB in Chiefs history run the damn ball.

Coaches choked on this one. Plain and simple. You can't blame the coaches for the fumble, but the circumstances that created it (playing LJ to begin with) are definately coaching issues.
